Should Dallas give Jackson Jeffcoat a look?

Please explain this one to me.

DeMarcus Lawrence was a second-round draft choice. He's 6-3, 251 pounds and ran a 4.69 40 at his pro day. He spent two years at Boise State and finished with 72 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks his final season there.

Jackson Jeffcoat was an undrafted free agent who was recently cut by the Seahawks. He's 6-3, 253 pounds and ran a 4.63 40 during the Combine. He spent four years at Texas and finished with 82 tackles, 19 for loss and 13 sacks his final season there.

What am I missing? Why isn't Jackson a DE candidate in this league? Something doesn't add up.

Dave Halprin wrote something about this back in May. He point out that Rick Gosselin thought the Cowboys should have signed Jeffcoat as one of its seventh rounders.

Might be time to revisit the idea of signing him.
