Rolando McClain "tackles hard", according to Jason Garrett. What a revelation!!

Here is Jason Garrett talking about Rolando McClain after the game.

Rolando played well in this game," Garrett said. "They challenge you a lot of different ways … so it can be challenging for those linebackers to deal with all of that. Throughout the game he made a lot of plays on the ball, made a lot of physical tackles. His presence was felt both in the run game and defending the pass. It was a good start for him."

"He’s been physical since he got here," Garrett said. "He tackles and he tackles hard."

This is the line that I thought interesting.

"He tackles and he tackles hard."

Isn't that what ALL defensive players are supposed to do? It seems like a revelation for Jason Garrett that one of his defenders actually hits and tackles the other team's players!!

There was a LONG debate on this site when the Cowboys cut Ahmad Dixon. Here's Tom Ryle's post. It got more than 500 comments. Dixon has since signed to another practice squad, and just got picked up by the Bears for their roster. Hitting and tackling is something Dixon could certainly do.

So far, McClain did take any dumb penalties like Dixon did. But he did bring the wood. Seems Dallas could use a LOT more of that on this defense.
