NFL turns to the Cowboys again

Whenever the NFL needs a big draw at the gate or on TV, they turn to the Cowboys. Thanksgiving Day. Check. Lots of MNF appearances. Ditto. Pre-season games in Mexico. Got it. First American Bowl in London (1986). Sure. Help for the Saints after Katrina. We're on the way.

This is why we are The Franchise in the NFL, and this is why we inspire legions of haters. Those legions are a testament to our greatness, no one hates losers, they scorn or pity them. In sports, true hate is always reserved for consistent winners. The "America's Team" tag really drove them batty, the run in the 90's made their heads explode like in the movie "Scanners". (I saw that guy's head explode at the theater as a kid, I haven't been right since).

Think about it, you could show our star logo to anybody and they would know it's the Cowboys, even if they didn't know the difference between Marcus Spears and Britney Spears. Someone needs to run this test; I need to know if our logo is the most recognizable in sports.

I'm sure you guys all know this scenario. You tell someone who's an NFL fan, but a non-Cowboys fan, that you root for Dallas. What's their next sentence? "Dude, I hate the Cowboys!" Sweet, happens everytime. Nothing but haters out there for the Cowboys, complaining about this or that: "we get special treatment, in the 90s we were just drugs and thugs, Jerry Jones is the anti-Christ."
They sure do spend a lot of time thinking about ways to hate on the Cowboys.

Back to the original point, the NFL wants the Cowboys to hook-up with the Saints in preseason in Louisiana. They need to give the Saints a boost and Jerry Jones is glad to help out, even if he is the anti-Christ.

(Can I get a "How 'bout them Cowboys" from everyone in the comments?)

HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS!
Hopefully we'll be able to recite that proudly this year after winning a 6th SB. We ARE the greatest sports franchise in the history of sports and everyone hates us for it. I really hope they're hating a lot next season.

Second rated hated team.
I would have to respectfully disagree with you, I would have to say that the New York Yankees are the most recognized team in the world, followed by Manchester United and then the Dallas Cowboys, but as hated goes, we would be firmly just behind the New York Yankees as thee most loved or hated teams in the world, you know what they say, you either love them or you hate them, no middle ground.
Everyone knows that the Dallas Cowboys make lots of money for the NFL and the other owners, there's a reason why the NFL wants the Cowboys to be good, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY from exposure on Primetime TV, other teams are just envious of what power the Dallas Cowboys franchise command in the NFL and they hate it.

Other Logo's
I'm going to have to differ on the logo deal.  I would bet that the Steelers' logo is more recognizable considering it has the team name imbedded in it.  Also, the Dolphins and Bills have an image of their totem as their logo.  A non-NFL fan would be able to deduce the team for any of those three easier than the Star.  However, we still have the best uniforms, colors, logo, etc.

Off topic, I wish the Cowboy's website had pictures of all our superbowl rings available for wall paper.  Also, NFL.com should have all the sb rings available for viewing as well.

Pete
Deke- who said anything about 'most recognizable in the world'..?

Anyway, I'll be the second to oblige:

HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS?!!!

Well pete
When one makes mention of the Cowboys playing Games albeit exibition in the Country of Britain, Mexico, and Canada I might add, which isn't mentioned by Grizz, you cant take a view of things in small terms, but as a whole. Now that NFL europe is astablished, thats a world view. Cowboy fans are world wide, not just in the states, and remember, the Cheerleaders perform worldwide bringing more attention to the Cowboy franchise, I'd say they are the most loved cheerleaders worldwide too.
