Romo buzz continues

Profootballtalk.com is saying that the league is really buzzing about our backup qb. They even suggest that Bledsoe will be on short lease with Parcells and Romo just might be the man by season's end.

In the wake of the unusual decision of Cowboys coach Bill Parcells to use quarterback Tony Romo for the entire preseason game on Saturday night at Seattle, the league is buzzing with positive comments regarding the fourth-year signal-caller from Eastern Illinois.

Some are saying that Romo reminds them of a young Brett Favre. The players in Dallas, we're told, love Romo, who is far more mobile than starter Drew Bledsoe.

One scout has predicted that Bledsoe will be on a short leash this year, and that if/when Bledsoe struggles Romo will get the job and Bledsoe will be done.

I guess I'm not the only Romo fan out there. While there certainly is not a qb controversy right now, there could be if Romo continues to play well this preseason and Bledsoe struggles into the season. I say this because if our line cannot protect Drew, Parcells might feel that a more mobile Romo might give our offense a better chance to succeed. I have a feeling this story has only begun.

I don't think Parcells has Bledsoe on any kind of leash and Dallas would have to totally
wash out really quickly this season for them to even consider using Romo as a starter.

There will be NO

quarterback controversy, Bledsoe will be the starter, period. One good preseason game against a vanilla defense filled with second and third string scrubs doesn't make you a starter. I'm glad Romo is showing some progress, but come on. The scout that stated Bledsoe will be on a short leash is the one who needs the choke chain yanked hard from around his neck, thats an idiotic statement. This is what happens when media types try to make a story when there isn't one. Bledsoe with the weapons on this offense will not struggle, I suspect he will have a career year.

is not a pro-Cowboys or pro-Coach Parcells site. They are trying to stir controversy all preseason over little things here. Not ready yet to take their word for it even though they get good scoops at times. They reported that Coach Parcells would quit over the signing of Eldorado even after it was clear he was on board. When I emailed him then with the support for the opposite he responded simply that other sites had said the same. Hardly the stuff to get your knickers in a twist over.
