First Round Playoff Predictions
In the spirit of March Madness and College Basketball Brackets... I'm gonna make some what-I-call logical predictions on a round-by-round basis for this year's NFL Playoffs.
Below is my playoff week one prognostications...
NFL PLAYOFF WEEK #1
AFC
Kansas City upsets Indianapolis 26-17 (in Indy)
LJ carries the ball 33 times for 197 yds and 2 TDs
against the Colts horrific run defense and the Chiefs play ball control -- keeping the potent Peyton Manning-led O off the field a lot (and win the time of possession war) -- to advance to the second round.
New England takes care of biz @ home over NY Jets 34-10
The Patriots' D stifles Chad Pennington and the Jets vanilla offense... even scoring a TD. A balanced attack on offense allows Brady/Dillon/Maroney/WR by committee to score on long drives to dominate like a well-oiled machine.
NFC
In the Linc, Phildelphia outplays NY Giants 34-14
The Philly D exert relentless pressure up the middle all game long to stifle the G-men rushing attack and force Eli Manning into numerous poor decisions.
On offense, Jeff Garcia dinks and dunks the Eagles up the field occassionally throwing and handing off to Brian Westbrook, who has a monster game (18 carries, 112 yds / 5 rec, 68 yds 1 rec TD). Reggie Brown scores a deep receiving TD and LJ Smith nabs a short TD pass in the red zone, with Correll Buckhalter taking one in from inside the Giants' 5-yard-line.
Without Michael Strahan, the Gargantuan Philly O-line handles the spindly DE tandem of Osi Umenyoira and Mathias Kiwenuka in passing situations.
Seattle exposes reeling Dallas Defense at Quest Field 37-31.
With numerous injuries in their receiving corps and secondary, the Seahawks in an aerial slugfest. The Seattle O-line gives Matt Hasselbeck outstanding protection as he torches a bedeviled Cowboy secondary by throwing for three TDs, leads the team to three Josh Brown FGs, and allows Shaun Alexander to score a TD in the red zone.
Despite a huge statistical day for Tony Romo and the Dallas O, the lack of defensive pressure and key third down stops turn out -- in the end -- to be the Cowboys' undoing.
Man, you just don't know how much I want our Beloved Boyz to prove me wrong.
What are your first round predictions?

Saturdays games
Kansas City after backing into the playoffs have a good chance to beat the Colts in Indy, with larry Johnson and their heavy running attack that will control the clock and keep Indy's offense off the field keeping Kansas City in the game, but if they get down early and force them out of their running attack, they have no chance.
Kansas City 24 Colts 23
With all the injuries to the Seattle defensive backs, Seattle signed old Cowboys fifth rounder, Pete "I dont want to play Safety" Hunter from his border patrol class to play corner this week, Dallas has a chance to win the game but if our defense plays the way they have the last few weeks and our offense turns the ball over again, we have no chance. Everyone is discounting Seattle, but they were at the superbowl last year, they have playoff experience, we dont.
Seattle 37 Dallas 31
Sundays games
I like both home teams heavily, The Jets cinderella season will come to an end in New England, Belechick remembers the season home loss to the Jets, that wont happen again.
Patriots 35 Jets 17
I really think the game between the Giants and the eagles will be a good game, atleast I hope it will. I like the Eagles, Garcia has got this team on a roll with three straight road wins against division foes. Philly's game plan, pressure up the middle on Eli "happy feet" Manning which will be successful along with Cole coming off the end with the Giant left tackle Pettigot out. The giants game plan, well give it and throw it to Tiki, he their best player. Shockey is hobbling.
Philly 23 Giants 17

KC will be only upset
Our beloved Cowboys can't stop anyone even if Romo plays lights out.
NE will take care of business against the Jets
Philly is hot and should easily defeat the Giants.
