NCAA open thread - with Cowboys vs. Redskins reading material

Here’s some reading material to go along with your NCAA football today.

Jerry Jones doesn’t want another late-season collapse.

Nick Eatman has no actual idea when Terry Glenn may return but he tells us that Glenn is working hard to get back. He hazards his best guess.

So the guess would be that Glenn can come back, maybe for the last two or three games of the regular season. But if not, and he misses the entire regular season, it wouldn't be out of the question he would make his season debut in the playoffs.

Joe Gibbs is testing the loyalty of the Redskins fans.

Ken Hamlin gets more love.

It’s looking more likely that Santana Moss will play.

Washington Redskins receiver Santana Moss returned to practice Friday and sounded optimistic that he will play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

"From doing what I did in practice, I should be able to play," Moss said.

More on Moss, here.

Andre Carter has been the Redskins best pass rusher.

This is an open thread for Cowboys and NCAA football chat.

To BTB-reader SneakyPete, who sent me an email about using my articles on other forums. I don’t mind if people use them, just give a link back to the blog and I’m OK. I tried to email SneakyPete back but got an undeliverable message error.

Go Warriors!
Hawaii remained one of two undefeated teams yesterday on national TV with a  kick that was reminiscent of the 'Boys game against the Bills. The Nevada coach called a timeout that nullified the first kick, but Dan Kelly nailed the 45-yarder a second time with 11 seconds remaining, for a 28-26 win. Colt Brennan only took two snaps due to his mild concussion last week against Fresno State, but backup QB Tyler Graunke did a fine job, completing 33 of 46 passes for 358 yards, two passing TDs and one rushing TD, and no interceptions. He drove the Warriors 61 yards with 2:16 left, setting up Kelly's game-winner. That is their third come-from-behind last-minute win on the road this year, for a 10-0 record (7-0 in the WAC). Next week against Boise State will probably be their biggest test, and Brennan should be back for that game. I hope they can get into a BCS bowl game!

If they win out

then Hawaii will go to a BCS bowl, I believe they only have to be ranked in the top 12 for an automatioc bid.

top 12 for an automatic bid

to a BCS group of only 4 games? that doesn't make sense to me.

on another note... congrats to Grizz and his lucky bastid Jackets for pulling one out against my beloved Tar Heels.  But note:  Carolina will no longer be anyone's whipping boy - this is a VERY young team with a top 10 recruiting class last year and already several top commitments for this year... and Butch Davis will have us playing lights out next year.

Mark my words.  (grizz, you lucky bastid)

Heh

Never underestimate Chan Gailey's ability to keep a game close, no matter the opponent!

Although I Do Understand The King's Pt...

I don't like him talking about BIGG as a potential OT.  I like BIGG better at guard.

Me too

I like Bigg right where he is. Let someone else play in Adams' place if he doesn't come back.

Go Cowboys!

I can't wait til...

Larry Coker's slackers graduate and Randy Shannon's recruits (from last year and the incoming class for next year) start playing more next season.

Our current QBs @ The U SUCK with a Capital S and I'm looking forward to QB underclassmen Robert Marve (5-star redshirt/Scout), Taylor Cook(4-star/Rivals), Jacory Harris (4-star/Scout) and Cannon Smith (3-star/Rivals) battling it out in 08.  Plus, they've got about five or six bluechippers from the #2 HS in the nation (Miami Northwestern) verbally committed for 2008-2009.

Back to QB...I abso-frickin-lutely cannot stand Kyle Wright and Kirby Freeman.  The former never met an INT he didn't love and the latter is as fun to watch throw the ball as it is to watch paint dry or grass grow.  At least paint drying and grass growing -- as boring as they are -- do accomplish something... unlike the suckwad Freeman.

Let this college football season end already for Miami Hurricane fans... cuz I'm dying over here.

This being a college football thread, thanks for letting me vent.

I'm pissed... and I'm out.

Tim Tebow first QB in NCAA

to have at least 20 TDs rushing and passing.  I am actually a Nebraska fan but Tebow graduated from Nease High School where I currently teach so I had to give him a shout out.

Mu vs. KU

Next week in Arrowhead, looks like one hell of a game.

My pick is the Tigers, and I think Chase Daniel is the Heisman forntrunner right now.

Just got back

from the USF and Louisville game. Pretty interesting game. Louisville got spanked hard. And, it's really weird seeing the Buc's stadium with USF endzones and flags everywhere. A lot of fun getting to see a game in person. It's been a while.
