Cowboys vs. Packers: Green Bay star players with injuries plan to play
More news on the Packers injury front, it looks like most of their stars are going to try and play.
Nick Collins, who has missed the past three game with a left knee injury, has returned to practice and will be back in the starting lineup for a game that could determine home-field advantage in the NFC playoff bracket.
Left cornerback Charles Woodson, who injured the big toe on his right foot during a punt return in the Packers' victory at Detroit on Thanksgiving, is expected to play but is still listed as questionable.
Here’s more from another article.
Cornerback Charles Woodson and end Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila are questionable for the game, according to coach Mike McCarthy, but Woodson completed the jog-through portion of practice and Gbaja-Biamila pronounced himself ready to play.
Mark Tauscher missed practice again, but McCarthy said his sprained ankle is better than last week, meaning he'll probably be in his usual spot at right tackle.
That’s cool, it will be a straight-up battle of the best two teams in the NFC.

Jerry Jones proclaims this the biggest game in Dallas since the 1995 season.
"It's certainly the most significant game at this stadium since the last time we played Brett Favre and Green Bay in the NFC Championship Game," Jones said, referencing the 1995 win that propelled the Cowboys to Super Bowl XXX."

The Romo/Favre comparisons just won’t quit. Get your fill here and here.

I'm glad GB will have all their players
playing. This way there will be no excuses after we kick their asses all over Texas Stadium.
Let the trash talk begin!
I'm ready!
I wouldn't be surprised if either team wins this game but my gut tells me we will have a late lead and Favre will throw a pick trying to press the action.
This would be a great game for Roy to show up big because he is all over ESPN and they continually mention how Favre can exploit him and that he has been exposed so much this season.
Show us something Roy!!
Roy hasn't been quite the same since the league
concocted the "horse-collar" rule.
He'll show us something alright
That same dumb founded look every time the guy he's suppose to cover scores a touchdown. You can bet Brett Favre and the Packers offense will isolate and attack Roy early and often in this game.
I doubt it
Phillips is subbing in Watkins on passing downs and RW is playing the run well. It'll be a chess match.
Green bay dont run
Favre against Roy in coverage, since we're using chess as a comparison, thats checkmate in favor of Greenbay!!
Deke, I can't wait for your apology on Friday
And if Roy has a bad day, I'll acknowledge your infinite wisdom... but for now, I am betting you'll be on here Friday with your tail between your legs and saying something like "I'm sorry I ever doubted this secondary, they really showed up and shut down Favre, even Roy had a good game, maybe he isn't as horrible as I thought..." and I can imagine you sitting at your computer with that deer-in-the-headlights look.
Romo plays yet another 100+ ratings game, Witten is huge, JJ and Barber go off, the defense continues to impress, and the Cowboys win 34-20.
He won't ever apologize
He's been wrong about thing before, and then he just shuts up. But that'll be good enough for me.

Apology, for what!!!
Roy Williams, I've been apologizing for his play for years, I keep waiting for his coverage to improve, I keep hearing its coming, just never see it. The only player that have that deer in the headlights look, is Roy Williams after every touchdown thats scored on him.
Look, I think the cowboys will win thursday night, because they have more weapons on offense and from what I seen the lions do in the running game against the Packers on thanksgiving, I think the cowboys will be able to run the ball especially on the left side and control the clock. I also believe the tightends in witten and Fasano will be key in the offensive passing game, I think the packers will limit T.O and Crayton catches. Romo needs to take what the defense is giving him, take the checkdowns and dont force balls into double coverage and turning the ball over.
The gameplan for the packers or any team when playing the cowboys should be to spread out the cowboys and attack Roy and Reeves in the secondary, thats our weak links IMO. Roy cant cover anyone, he's horrible, Brett favre will attack and expose him thursday night, you cant hide Roy, unless he's on the bench. I dont think it'll be enough to cost us a win unless we turn the ball over and take too many penalties, but he will again get exposed. Two areas holding this defense from being an elite defense IMO, Roy and Reeves. I would really like another good Corner, thats why I think its a priority early in the draft next year, and you know how I feel about Roy, he should be replaced.
It's not that I don't like Roy, but...
I just don't like him in coverage. He's a great tackler, and I love his ferocious hits.
However, there's an element of truth to what Deke's saying (and please don't paint me as a Roy hater, because I'm not)... that opposing teams do try to exploit him in coverage.
For the rest of this season, Wade's gotta come up with schemes from week to week to minimize #31's pass coverage deficiencies.
But come next year, something's gonna have to be done to shore up that weakness in our pass defense.
I'm not trying to be negative. And I do love what our Boyz have accomplished this season. However, I am superstitious... With Roy's problems in coverage, our front 7's inability to apply constant pass pressure, and Green Bay's effectiveness in 3 and 4 receiver sets... and with all the mediots picking us to win, I got a bad feeling that we're gonna lose tonight against the Packers.
My prediction: GB 38, Dallas 28.
I hope to God I'm wrong...
However, I think
Whoops. Delete "However, I think"
I copied and pasted and failed to edit my post...
Sorry, my bust.
Cripes, da Burger King picked us to win!
We're cooked.
Peter just sealed our fate with his prediction of us coming out victorious.
That sucks.
I never ever
believe that a guy who is "questionable" on one day won't be playing the next. Whoever is ready let him play, and may the best team win...
i'm tierd of the haters...
good thing some of the people on this blog arn't coaching because our team would look like this..
roy w. out because he can't cover and lost his will to hit..t newman covers well but can't catch a ball..reeves should be in the cfl..spears cant do anything right..gregg ellis is a cry baby and complains to much..ratlif is to small to play nt.. tank is a thug for having his own guns is his own house.a. henry should be a safty not a corner, hamlin bites to much on pump fakes..d-ware only has one move...b. carpenter can play linebacker at all..thats just d-fence.. lets move to offence..t.o. drops to many balls and breaks up to many lockerrooms..p. crayton cant keep his mouth shut..flozel adams has to man false starts even though he's hard of hearing in his rt. ear..kyle kosar is to small and parcells screwed up bringing in a lump like him.. our center cant snap the ball..l.davis was a wash out in arizona.. jj can't run to save his life..and not to long ago alot of you thought romo was a loser after his botched hold, parcells sucked as a coach..sean peyton was some kind of offensive guru.even though fossel had to take away his play calling duties in ny..jerry jones has no clue what he is doing, we should have hired norv turner insted of wade...oh yeah and i forgot about t. glenn...sometimes i wonder if some of you are cowboy fans or just player haters...as for me my team is 10-1 and im loven ever minute of it, its not perfect but its fun as hell to watch...
you're right because its one thing to be critical
but it another to completely bash a player which many bloggers on this site are guilty of. I'm the first to admit Roy isn't the best cover safety in the league, but to constantly rant over and over about how bad he sucks and we should trade or cut him is ridiculous.
Same goes for guys like Spears and JJ. These guys are good, solid players, but people expect so much more out of them and thats being unfair.
Spears wasn't drafted to be a pass rusher, Parcells drafted him to be a 3-4 DE to stop the run and occupy OL in his scheme. If anyone remembers, the scouting report on him was that he wasn't a very good pash rusher and but a great run stuffer and thats what he's been. Most people have been too harsh on Spears, even Grizz.
JJ is a very good back, but because he doesn't run with the style of MB3, a lot of people want him benched in favor of MB3. As a Cowboys fan I love both backs and love to see them both run. Its a shame JJ will bolt in FA next season because he's a been a really good back for us. It shouldn't matter who starts.
This team is 10-1, the first time a Cowboys team ever has been 10-1, and still a lot of fans want to bitch and moan about Roy's coverage, Reeves playing soft, Romo's early game picks, MB3 starting and so on. Its ridiculous and really should stop because this is a truly special season. Many bloggers here act as though we're 6-5 and struggling for a playoff berth when in fact we're the 2nd best team in football and there is very little, in reality, to complain about. Every team has weaknesses, those whining should learn to deal with that reality.
Amen, Terry
And don't forget about all the Reeves nay-sayers, who were crying about how horrible he was before the first game. Well, it's game 11 and all the haters are still absolutely sure our secondary is gonna get destroyed this week... and last week... and the week before that... and where are all those touchdown bombs? That's right, outside our first game and the Patriots game ... ZERO. NADA. NUTTIN.
When your team has not won a single playoff game in 10 years, you should check yourself before whining about 10-1.
I FEEL BETTER NOW
there are some other fans out there who think 10-1 isnt the sky falling...go cowboys...
