Cowboys Pro Bowl candidates

Most media outlets are coming out with their mid season grades and reports as well as their mid season All-Pro teams, so therefore, I think its time we start thinking about who will be going to Hawaii this season from the Cowboys.
On offense, I think Romo, T.O. and Witten are locks to go. They are all having outstanding seasons and I see no reason why they won't continue with their great play.
As I've mentioned before, Jamie Dukes from the NFL Network gave our O line some love this week by declaring that they are the best unit in the league and I agree. MB3 and JJ have combined for very good rushing yardage and Romo has been protected well all season. The Cowboys have the 2nd best offense in the league and it all starts up front with the big uglies.
Out of that group, I see Gurode, "Bigg" Davis and Flozell playing well enough to be selected to the NFC squad. Out of the entire unit, I see Romo, T.O., Witten and Gurode as starters.
On defense, I'm picking Bradie James, D Ware and Roy Williams. T Newman, if healthy all season would have been another pick, but he hasn't played long enough, although I hope he proves me wrong.
On special teams, I really believe both McBriar and Folk can make it. McBriar is a no brainer but most people don't realize that Folk is having an outstanding rookie season.
So I have 11 Cowboys having a good shot at going to Hawaii after the SB, anyone care to differ?

Looks good to me
The outside chance is Henry who leads vt5he league in INTs. Should he snag a few more before selection he could compete.

I would have included Henry
because he is also playing well but I didn't because he has missed several games which I think hurts his chances.

As long as he remains tied for the league lead in
int's he'll be picked over Newman

Newman (playing time) and Roy Willy (just not that good) won't go. Flozell might be an alternate, but he's probably not one of the two best LT's in the conference. Favre will probably start at QB (though Romo will deserve to) and Fitgerald will probably start at WR with Smith, though neither have been better than TO this year.
I think our line is a bit overrated, partially as a way for haters to say that Romo/TO aren't that good, but just have a "superior line." Romo's pocket awareness and decision making make a lot of lines look good. We're light years ahead of the Tucker/Pettiti nightmare, but we're not like top 3 or anything.

Folk yes!
Folk should be in the Pro Bowl based on his performance at this point. He and Crosby are both having great years, but I'd give Folk the nod right now. Henry has a strong argument as well, seeing as how he's leading the league in INTs.
I do have to ask about Roy though. What has he done to justify another Pro Bowl selection? He seems to get in by default, and I support the guy, but I don't remember him doing a lot (for better or worse) this year.

admittedly, a tall order
Perhaps this is why Roy keeps getting elected. But Sean Taylor would definitely be the first that comes to mind; he is having a good season. As for #2, I haven't seen the guy play, but Jermaine Phillips for Tampa is having a statistically stronger year than Roy.

Can we at least consider LaRon?
He leads all NFC defensive backs in tackles and has 1.5 sacks; Williams has none. He does have two picks that Landry lacks. It becomes a function of how large an emphasis you want to play on either player's statistical superiority in sacks/tackles or interceptions. I think a case can at least be made for both.
If you're not big on Landry, and you are honestly only going on resume, I think you'd have to admit that Green Bay's Atari Bigby is having a comparable season thus far. He has 12 more tackles, one less pick, but two more forced fumbles. Tampa Bay's Jermaine Phillips has more tackles, more picks, and more sacks. Michael Lewis has more tackles, more sacks (just half of one, though) with only one fewer interception. Carolina's Chris Harris leads NFC DBs in forced fumbles (4) with 3 recovered and an interception. He also has more tackles than Roy Williams.
Just some food for thought.

Landry over Taylor?
Living in DC and getting all the Redskins games, Taylor's play has stood out more than that of Landry. He also has a career high of five interceptions already (although as I recall most of those were badly overthrown balls that he camped under).
LaRon has played well, from what I've seen, just surprised you'd mention him over Taylor.

Naw, you're correct.
There is no question that Sean Taylor is a better safety than LaRon Landry, and neither is there any doubt on who is having the better year. Taylor is.
But the question presented above related to strong safeties, and Landry is a SS and Taylor is a FS.
Between the two, I think Taylor has, and justifiably so, a much better shot at being in Hawaii. But I also think that Landry has at least played his way into the conversation among NFC strong safeties.

Sounds good to me, I do agree w/lee that Henry has an outside chance if he keeps snagging INT's. I do doubt Newman will get any consideration, he is always overlooked. I just hope this blog is doing its just do in voting for these guys on NFL.com. I would consider it a travesty if Bradie James didnt make it, especially if we are the reason his name is not getting out there.

I know he doesn't have that many yards this year but who else should go?
I think Peterson is in, but Steven Jackson and Frank Gore are having injury filled seasons.
Clinton Portis is probably the other guy to get in, but they take three right?
Also I think Favre will get the sentimental vote and take the starting spot from Romo.

McBriar is not going to make it
they only take one punter and the San Fran guy is out performing him. Although I think Folk could definitely get in.
Barber has a shot if he churns out an even better second half of the season. But I wouldn't put money on it.
I also think Ellis has a good shot of he can keep up his current production.
