Cowboys sign FB to 53-man roster
The Cowboys brought in someone new for the 53-man roster. That hasn’t happened a lot this year. The lucky football player is none other than Zack Crockett, famed vulture of 1-yard TD’s in fantasy leagues everywhere.
After remaining pretty static on the 53-man roster all year, the Cowboys have made another move, claiming veteran running back Zack Crockett off waivers to fill the temporary open roster spot created by Roy Williams' one-game suspension for last Sunday's horse-collar tackle.
They must want a look and then decide if they want to keep him for the playoffs. He’s not going to be ready this week so they are looking down the road. If he stays, someone goes.
Hat tip to dunkman for posting the news here.

T.O.’s talking, and people are listening. Other Cowboys players have been a little chirpy over the past few weeks, too. Things are getting just a touch chaotic out at the Ranch for my tastes. I like to see Wade gather the team and remind them this is about football, not all that outside stuff. That way, we don’t have to suffer through a publicist telling us it’s all a joke.

Matt Mosley has gone Cowboy crazy over at Hashmarks.

I forgot to post about the Inside the Huddle show on Tuesday. Sam Hurd hosted and Greg Ellis was the guest. Check out the archived version here.

Isn't Crockett
suppose to be pretty good special team player?

Yep
But, I'm sure they brought him in because of Gurode's injury more than Davis not getting as much ST time. Roy will be back after Carolina, then Davis can resume normal ST duty. I think they want to get better in the run game and blitz pickups.

Quitter Parcells Trying To Raid Our Staff
I'm from an older belief system, one where you fulfill your obligations. Maybe it was the retail experience I had in my teens, where if you were scheduled to work from 8-6, you actually left at 6-6:15. Walking out on an agreement says something profound about your character, and Bill Parcells has none.
I hope Jerry shells out the money to keep our coaching staff intact. It'd be hard for Sparano to swallow the handcuffing he received from Parcells last year, but at the same time he was demoted in favor of Jason Garrett. Speaking of the Redball Express, shore him up as coordinator for the next 2 years and then slide him into the head coach spot.
Does anyone know when Wade's contract expires? I know it's ridiculous to imagine replacing the coach of a 12-2 team, but Garrett is the real talent on this coaching roster.

I think the absolute best scenario that could
happen for the Cowboys would be to win the SB and have Phillips retire with a SB title to his name and name Garrett HC next season.
At Phillips age, all he's playing for now is a ring and once he gets that, I think he would welcome retirement to hang out with his dad.

I'd go with that for sure
Wade gets his ring, we all get to celebrate and Jason Garrett doesn't leave. Cheers.

All that
and to take down the undefeated Patriots in the SB. That much glory might make me retire too but I think I'd better wait until I'm at least 40. :)

Garrett will
write his own ticket no matter what. He will pick his time and place and be successful whenever/wherever he goes.
I hope he wants another year or two as OC before he moves up to HC, and that when he does, it will be for the Cowboys. Our biggest competition for Jason, I think, will be the NY Giants.
