Come on Titans

win and you're in and Cleveland will hold the twenty pick for us in the draft...

Titans

I know Cowboy fans want the Titans to win because of the draft, but please let me remind you that their owner is the spawn of Satan.  Yes, I am a Texans fan, but I do go to school in Dallas, and I root for Wade Phillips, mainly b/c his dad is the greatest coach in the history of Texas professional football.  JMHO, however ;).  Good luck in the playoffs!

Titans will win

This game will be just like ours, Indy has nothing to play for, Titans do.

see, the Colts are mailing it in too

when its meaningless, its meaningless, its only human nature that we're going to play that way.

Like the Way

The Giants, New England, Seattle and Green Bay played this week?

And I see Tennessee is really killing Indy, they're dominating them 7-3.

by kindablue on Dec 30, 2007 8:21 PM CST up reply actions

they fumbled the ball in the red Zone

after a nice drive, could of been up by more, hope that doesn't come back to haunt them.

by Deke on Dec 30, 2007 8:22 PM CST up reply actions

yeah, after Titans gave him the ball

on the 10 after a fumble and 2 big penalties.

You Said He Couldn't Score

He did.  Or do you not understand English?

by kindablue on Dec 30, 2007 9:44 PM CST up reply actions

I didn't think the Titans would give him

the ball at the 10, I just assumed they would play well since they are playing for their playoff lives, obviously they aren't.

anyone except Romo today

who was given the ball at the Wash 18 and Folk had to kick a FG. I'm just sayin'.

Giants/Pats didn't have meaningless game

Seattle gave up 44 to sucking Falcons and GB played a team who already packed up their lockers.

Giants Had Nothing to Play For

And while 16-0 is a nice record, it had as much meaning to the Patriots as Dallas' game--nothing.  We could have set a franchise record for wins, but I guess that's different in your mind.  Seattle was in their game until the very end, and Green Bay sat out several starters in bearing Detroit (Kampman, Jennings, Driver, etc.).

No amount of rationalizing can change the fact that we fell to pieces, and the other teams didn't.

by kindablue on Dec 30, 2007 9:37 PM CST up reply actions

no way, Pats were playing for history

they wanted that game bad and Giants wanted to be the team in history to prevent it, like the 85 Dolphins when they beat the Bears to prevent them from going undefeated.

franchise record for wins is absolutely meaningless compared to being the only team in NFL history to go 16-0, its silly to think otherwise.

We didn't fall to pieces anymore than the Steelers or Jags who both lost big to teams worse than the Redskins.

Silly

Is thinking the Giants gained anything by risking injury to their starters in stopping the Patriots.  They have to play next week, and whether New England won or lost was completely irrelevant to their next game.  It's ironic to see you dismiss our game today as meaningless, when we had a chance to set a franchise record for wins, and knock our historically most bitter rival out of the playoffs; yet spin around to defend the Giants' play as historic, when in fact it made zero difference to the outcome of their season.  It's an inconsistent position.

The reference to the 1985 Dolphins is a non sequitur.  That game has nothing to do with what we're talking about.

The Steelers didn't lose big.  They lost by six points on the road to their biggest division rival.  The Jags sat out Fred Taylor and David Garrard and four other starters for the game, and lost to a team they always lose to, and by a smaller margin than our loss.

Seattle and Green Bay both played much better, with just as much on the line, as we did.

by kindablue on Dec 30, 2007 9:59 PM CST up reply actions

Well-written summation, kindablue

And it's the lack of effort, preparation, and intensity level admitted by many starters -- including the head coach -- that has me very concerned.

We as fans are rooting you on to win every game... and we're smart enough to know that if you need to sit starters so they can heal up for the playoffs, we'll understand.

So then prep with backups and have them get the reps all week and motivate them to go out there like a bunch of crazed dawgs full tilt in an attempt to win the ballgame.

in the first half, if that makes anyone feel better.

yeah, something tells me we would have played

better at Texas Stadium.

Plus, Redskins played a great game, Titans are really not playing that well. Too many penalties and turnovers.

much better

When indy had its starters in they moved the ball got first downs looked liked they wanted to play. We couldnt get a first down. forget the score I don't expect Indy to win but they showed up. We had 4 pos in the first half no first downs and a int. that was our first team. At least manning looked sharp didnt get sacked and the defensive made plays
Im disappointed in our team tonight not because we didnt win but how bad we looked, that was our division rival. The next two weeks are going to suck until we get that playoff win then all will be better lol

Yay, Browns are out!

A single thing went right all day. This is it.
So, what pick do we get now? 20?

by Or Moyal on Dec 30, 2007 10:13 PM CST reply actions

Sweet

Good job Titans, especially Collins and Bironas.

by APerfectStar on Dec 30, 2007 10:17 PM CST reply actions

Yep.

Then we traded... I believe it was pick 35 and our third rounder for pick 26.
And pick 55 to Cleveland for... a 3rd and a 4th? I'm not sure about that one.

by Or Moyal on Dec 30, 2007 10:51 PM CST reply actions

thanks...
