Reggie Nelson visiting Dallas

This one is for Reggie Nelson super-fan and BTB regular Terry.

Florida safety Reggie Nelson has six visits lined up next week with Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Green Bay, Dallas and San Diego.

Confirming what has already been widely rumored, the Cowboys will open at home against the Giants on Sunday night. We'll also welcome the Jets to Texas Stadium for the annual Thanksgiving Day game.

First off, the Cowboys will open the season Sept. 9 in a nationally televised Sunday night game against the New York Giants at Texas Stadium. The game will kick off at 7:15 p.m. and be broadcast by NBC.

The Cowboys also will play the New York Jets on Thanksgiving Day at 3:15 p.m. CBS will broadcast that one.

The Redskins picked up a Cowboys castoff.

The Washington Redskins signed former Dallas and New York Jets offensive tackle Jason Fabini to a one-year contract. The Cowboys released Fabini earlier this month.

Earlier speculation about Ron Jaworski replacing Joe Theismann is confirmed.

Joe Theismann will no longer be part of the network's Monday Night Football broadcast and will be replaced as an analyst by Ron Jaworski, the former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, the network announced.

Thanks Grizz
Good to see the Cowboys are still interested in him even though they signed Hamlin. I'm telling you it would be a mistake to pass on this kid.

Seahawk fan's opinion on Hamlin
I asked on the Field Gulls site if they thought Hamlin was a good cover FS and here is what Christian said
I don't think he is.

I don't know how bad Watkins was last year, but I think this will almost make the Cowboys secondary worse.

Hey, those guys saw him play more than we did.

Good that means Watkins should be able to
reclaim his starting position this season

Watkins received over
$200 thousand from the NFL this week for outperforming his contract. I think it is apparent that Seattle wanted to lose Hamlin and the link to the nightclub fight he is said to have instigated, especially with the new emphasis by the Commissioner on holding teams accountable for off-field behavior. I also think Hamlin is a 50-50 proposition like any talent acquisition so drafting a CB or Safety or both on the 1st day is still a must.
