Dwayne Bowe draft prospect video

I found a series of YouTube clips that come from a TV show on the draft. You don’t get the amount of highlight clips that you get in typical YouTube videos, but they do lay out the player’s history and accomplishments in the voice over. I’ll post the ones I find on players who are potential targets of the Cowboys.

Dwayne Bowe - WR - LSU

Second best receiver in the draft

I always thought Bowe was the second best receiver in this draft, next to GOD, otherwise known as CJ but I dont think we should take a wideout with the first pick, wouldn't really bother me, but the bust factor with so many receivers in the first round is pretty high.

Here's a site

where they have alot of videos of the higher round picks in the upcoming draft,

Those are really good prospect videos

But I have trouble embedding them on my blog. They always cutoff somewhere near the beginning. I'm trying to work that out and if I do, I will post some of those.

Man, that's a great draft source

Of course, I scrolled down and clicked on the Adam Carriker video.

The way he gets off the line and quickly into the backfield -- for someone that big -- reflects his speedy shuttle time @ the combine.

Back to Dwayne Bowe, I think Big Bill would've loved having a receiver with that size, strength and speed.

And what I really liked about him was that he was still productive in big games... games against top competition.

If Carriker doesn't miraculously drop to us, I'd still be pumped if we drafted Bowe.

reminds me of Irvin and T.O.

Big, strong, fast, physical WR who can abuse opposing wr's. I'd love to see the Cowboys make him our first rd pick if Nelson doesn't fall to us.

True dat

Physically and in skill-set he reminds me of T.O. for sure. From the big body, good speed, open-field ability, and the occasionally shaky hands...sounds like T.O., but who knows if he's that good.

I don't think his hands are that shaky

In the couple of games I saw him in he looked fine to me.  I think after the lasic surgery his catching ability got a lot bet.

I think his hands are related

to taking his eyes off the ball and trying to run or make a play before he catches the ball.

Bowe

He just has that "look" of a pro. I think the Lasik helped him a lot, and the drops can be corrected with better coaching. If we don't get A. Ross, I would be happy with him as a second choice.

Question

For the draft next week, comparing the corners to the receivers, which group is stronger in the second round?  Do you think its better to go CB then receiver the first 2 rounds or just the opposite?

I think both positions

are the same in terms of depth. I'm thinking there wil be about 5-10 wr and corners taken in the first two rounds.

WR's are deeper

Although DB is also deep.

FILE - In this Sept. 4, 2009 file photo, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill aims a pass downfield against the San Diego Chargers during the first quarter of an NFL preseason football game in San Diego. Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
