In what appears to be either a collective sigh of relief that Parcells is gone or some sort of mass hypnosis, another defender decides that Bill wasn't all that and that he could have been better prepared, the new system is nicer, friendlier, better explained...

"It's tough because Bill [Parcells] doesn't always communicate everything really well," Carpenter said. "It was tough for me trying to get a feel for what was going on and what they expected out of me and what their goals were for me to be out on the field. They have done a good job this year of communicating what they want and what I need to do to get better."

Getting past all that, a nice discussion of Carpenter as ILB. And they said it couldn't be done!!

Part of the reason Phillips moved Carpenter back inside was his running and pass-coverage ability.

"He's very athletic," Phillips said. "He can run. You put him in the middle and let him run to the ball and he's going to get there."
