Probably good reading for everyone
I ran accross this this blog entry while reading a Ranger's blog that I follow.
I am not posting this blog entry out of disdain for ESPN, but more so as a thank you to Grizz and to all of you that post on this blog on a daily basis. That entry reminded me how great sports blogs are, and made me further appreciate how hard the people work to make our sports world a better place.
This is a great blog, and I really appreciate the time that everyone puts into it.
I hope you guys enjoy the article.

Good read
If your responders are slow here is might be because it will take us another week to digest all that along with the linked info!
The one point he did not make that I think we see here in Dallas is the draw for young print journalists to sensationalize in their newspapers in order to get ESPN jobs. Matt Mosely and Tim Cowlishaw are prime examples.
There used to be another blog that was on top of the NBA world - True Hoop by Henry Abbott. I say used to be because Henry sold out to ESPN (literally). I don't honestly know if his content is as good - he doesn't seem to have the bite he once had - but I have stopped reading there after a few months. Here's hoping Grizz doesn't follow Henry (smile). I agree with you tbat this is a most excellent group led by a most dedicated and excellent weblogger.
Bold move HSO
linking a Bulldog blog to Grizz's site!
A great read. I have heard a lot of denigration of bloggers for the past few years. Even Parcells used to refer us negatively. But that's how it usually goes as change is thrust upon the wider, established industry. Clearly there is a reason for the popularity of the blogosphere, a need that is not filled by ESPN and other outlets. Maybe it's the ability to question "conventional wisdom", maybe it's the ability to take part in a community of like-mined (or sometimes unlike-minded) fans, maybe it's that narrower focus that matches our own (after all, I care not at all what the Red Wings are doing). Whatever the motivation, it's here and will continue to be a force.
