Terence Newman and the Champ
Terence Newman is the subject of two feature articles today. I guess with Champ Bailey in town the comparisons would inevitably flow. Newman remains under the radar in the general NFL population, but here in Dallas we know he’s as good as any CB out there, well, except for maybe Champ. This whole Pro Bowl snubbing of Newman comes from one thing and one thing only: interceptions. Bailey gets them, Newman not so much.
Like Newman, Bailey rarely gets many passes thrown his way. But still, he winds up getting his share of interceptions.
Last season, Bailey had a career-high 10 interceptions, topping the eight passes he picked off in 2005. While Denver took some heat for trading away Clinton Portis to the Redskins for Bailey, he hasn't disappointed, picking off 21 passes in three years with the club.
And that's where Newman knows he needs to be.
Here’s another Newman article.

MB3 does a little talking which is unusual for him. He seems to be from the Terry Glenn School of Interview, which means rarely, if at all. But Clarence E. Hill, Jr. got him talking, and MB3 wouldn’t mind starting.
"Of course you want to [start]," Barber said. "It's a goal of mine. If you are not motivated to start or train yourself like you are going to start, you shouldn't be playing. But you have to know your role. I just try to be ready when they call my name."
Know your role! Maybe he’s from The Rock School of Interview, he should've just thrown in a jabroni to make it official. Can you smell what MB3 is cooking?

The defense is singing, birds are chirping, it’s all sunshine with Wade Phillips.

T.O. was late, he apologized, Wade and Jerry say no biggie. Our very own Terry contemplates T.O.'s recent transformation from bad-boy to no-story, here. Terry thinks T.O. may have turned a corner, but I have to disagree. I still think we have an Invasion of the Body Snatchers incident happening here, and I want the National Enquirer to start the investigation. He's a pod-person people! I'm telling you, and if you disagree, that's just evidence that you're a pod-person, too, trying to cover up the conspiracy! He's E.T., the Extra-Terrellstial.

I guess that explains
his miraculous finger repair too. Remember how they said he'd be deformed for life? And now he's like brand new. The only part that doesn't fit... wouldn't a pod-person opt for better hammy's?

Good point
I hadn't considered that about the hammy's. But I do have evidence that he was late for practice not because of traffic as stated, but because he had to make a detour to the Motel 6 to pirate their wi-fi signal and communicate with the home planet. They found out and charged $4,679.42 to his credit-card for Internet usage. I have a copy of the receipt as proof.

I suppose we'd need
a theory about when it happened. The logical time was the out-of-body thing when he overdosed on creatine and Yohimba Juice, and Kimmy phoned 911. Maybe she was fired because she alone could tell the difference, and when Jordan saw her with TO at the juice bar the other day, maybe it's because SHE's podster now.
I need to stop now. My cube mate is giving me a funny look right now. He really hasn't been the same since he got back from Key West...

And BTW
I loved Phillips' response to Owens: Don't apologize to me, apologize to your team mates. Awesome.

Is not bad. The pun is the highest form of humor. And for those who cannot do them and groan, I say punish them!

Whats with Bobby Carpenter?
Second training camp and he can't crack the starting line-up? Can't beat out Bradie James? Top 15 pick right? So, is he a bust for what?

The pitch is over the plate from Jaxon...
Ohhhhh, dunkman parks it over the center field fence. Anything traveling that far should have to register a flight plan.

I'd like to hear ...
What Bailey thinks of Newman. Or maybe any of the NFL QBs. I'd like to see where he stacks up in their opinion.
Opposing QBs must know Newman is a great CB ... otherwise, why not throw his way? Oh, right ... Henry. But still, you'd think the occasional pass would float his way if QBs thought he was overrated. Same goes for coaches; they could call more plays in Newman's direction, but they don't - because he's good.
All these guys get Pro Bowl votes ... so if they (consciously or subconsciously) think he's good, why don't they VOTE for him? It boggles the mind.

Coaches have only 1/3 of the vote
Fans have 1/3 and the players have 1/3. Only the WRs and some of the CBs- and we are talking his competitors for THOSE Pro Bowl slots- really know how good he is. Fans are stupid and think INTs are everything; many players don't care and go with the flow. T New is always around 3-5 in total votes- so you KNOW he gets most of the coaches and some of the players votes. BUT he gets few fan votes except from US. Meanwhile the fans over whelmingly vote for dinks like Hall. And of course BSPN does not help.
After the 2005 game Bailey said to T New: "See you in Hawaii". Tells you what Bailey thinks of him.
