Almost game time
who's in here tonight?
I am listening
via Internet Radio. Dang I would love to watch this game! I hate it that NFL Sunday Ticket doesn't include preseason games.
Once again
Listening to the game on theticket.com
For some reason my girlfriend is kind of understanding about my need to spend Saturday Night on my computer listening to a Preseason game.
I had to promise we would make a social showing at Hooters after the game.
Oh Darn.
where on the ticket?
I tried to find the game on the ticket, could not find it. Is there some link there to get to it?
Burt D in da house
but I am only half a man (if you are in the dallas area you know what I am talking about)

Too high for Hurd punt
score omnpunt return
Jacoby Jones = Stud
McBriar boomed that kick from DAL 20 to the HOU 10, and pinned it against the sideline, Reeves and Spencer missed the initial tackles on Jones.

No place to run, poor blocking.
by APerfectStar on Aug 25, 2007 8:59 PM CDT up reply actions
From the sound
of things, we are playing rather sloppy. Not encouraging.
Let's see how the D gets out of the gate here...
very poor execution so far

Great sack for Burnett
by Burt D @ Blogging The Boys on Aug 25, 2007 7:30 PM CDT reply actions
I think Austin's position on this team is in doub
Urban is with first team punting unit and Thompson has been fielding all the kickoffss
by Burt D @ Blogging The Boys on Aug 25, 2007 7:31 PM CDT reply actions
offense can't convert
bad execution
This is ridiculous
our D is going to need to score
by Burt D @ Blogging The Boys on Aug 25, 2007 7:36 PM CDT reply actions
Bradie was all over that
well that was ugly
let's get it going in this second quarter.
Terrible defense
I Was Hoping to Watch the Game...
Now I'm glad I can only follow the play-by-play. Sounds like we may not be quite as dominant as we originally thought.
Fans always knee jerk
That's why after 2 preseason games we were going to the Super Bowl, yet after a quarter and some change of another game we aren't
Wow they score again
true enough
by Dave Halprin on Aug 25, 2007 7:46 PM CDT up reply actions

Pass across the middle
He split the defenders on the run and took it 15-20 yards for a TD.
by Dave Halprin on Aug 25, 2007 7:59 PM CDT up reply actions
Folk just made the roster
by Burt D @ Blogging The Boys on Aug 25, 2007 7:59 PM CDT reply actions
How do you miss extra points
by Burt D @ Blogging The Boys on Aug 25, 2007 7:59 PM CDT up reply actions
Gramatica missed the extra point
Folkin-a
Folk yeah!

Gramatica stinks tonight
that kickoff was way short
Dang, these guys are running on us
J. Thomas whiffed on that tackle
Good tackle Ferguson
but couldn't stop the first down
Fergie the man again
Good bull rush by Ware
we can't run on these guys
T.O. dropped it
even Romo looking rough
forbid the thought
by Burt D @ Blogging The Boys on Aug 25, 2007 8:16 PM CDT up reply actions

agreed
by Dave Halprin on Aug 25, 2007 8:21 PM CDT up reply actions
another score
The problem with preseason games
is that beating Indy may be meaningless
but losing to Houston sure feels significant
not sure thats really the case, but still feels that way
Cornerbacks getting schooled
maybe if Justin King comes out next year we can
nab him with cleveland's pick
by Burt D @ Blogging The Boys on Aug 25, 2007 8:32 PM CDT up reply actions
Now that's funny
I was thinking Billie Jean King.
by Dave Halprin on Aug 25, 2007 8:38 PM CDT up reply actions
Wow sack
pathetic ending to that half
DB Paul Oliver for a #4?
Geez, Paul Oliver went to the San Diego Chargers for a #4. The Cowboys couldn't have given up a #4? The CBs look bad!
I want Barber
Now I want him in Now!!!
by Burt D @ Blogging The Boys on Aug 25, 2007 8:48 PM CDT reply actions
screen passes
one thing that hasn't changed regardless of who's playing or coaching for this team, we still can't execute a screen pass on offense & we can't defense the screen pass on defense.

TD Witten!
he looked a little shooken up
by Burt D @ Blogging The Boys on Aug 25, 2007 8:56 PM CDT up reply actions

dunkman
just keep muttering to yourself, while holding your knees and rocking....
"its only a preseason game........its only a preseason game...."
by Brandon Worley on Aug 25, 2007 9:02 PM CDT up reply actions
Sounds like
The Cowboys came out of the Locker room ready to make some adjustments and try to atone for a sorry first half.
Im hoping that most of this is just one team ready for Sept 9 to come, and the other trying to hard to win the Governors Cup in a Preseason game.
Tim MacMahon
Says Gramatica grabbed his hamstring after that kickoff and is trying to stretch it out on the sidelines. Anyone see that?
Christy Scales
reporting that Gramatica is being looked at on the sideline, for a sore hammy.
by Brandon Worley on Aug 25, 2007 9:06 PM CDT up reply actions
Urban not smart
Can anyone return punts?
I really think this may be the biggest black eye on the team right now.
Oh no romo
not good
I can see it now...
Terry is clutching his chest, sinking from his armchair and slowly dying from a broken heart.
specialty teams
as bad as this game seems, like they just said on the radio the only difference in the game is special teams.
we give up a 91yrd punt return & gramatica misses an extra point, otherwise this is a tie game. also as far as the run defense goes outside of the 46yrd run by green they only have 61yds on 17 carries which is about 3.5 yds per carry.

3 first round picks will do that

by Dave Halprin on Aug 25, 2007 9:30 PM CDT up reply actions
It seems like he has been pretty good in coverage
this game as well though i could be wrong

texans team
this team actually looks like maybe it's starting to go
in the right direction. they finally unload david carr that huge stiff & they pick up ahman green & i also like their tight end owen daniels. they've also done a real good job with drafting on defense the past 2 or 3 years with dunta robinson, demeco ryans, mario williams & a. okoye.
by cjr126 on Aug 25, 2007 9:34 PM CDT reply actions
Or......
They are pumped up to beat the Cowboys.
Remember, they won their Super Bowl in 2002 in the first game of the season, and went 4-12 overall.
by Brandon Worley on Aug 25, 2007 9:37 PM CDT up reply actions
And They Led 6-3 at the Half Last Year
Before we brushed them aside in the second half. So maybe the "getting pumped up inferiority complex" has some merit.
agree
they definitely took this game more seriously than we did, but i do think they have made some strides, although not enough to compete in the afc.
by cjr126 on Aug 25, 2007 9:41 PM CDT up reply actions
Run D
They got over a hundered yard rushing tonight. Not sure how worried I should be yet about the Run Defense, but I didn't see anything that inspired me tonight, that's for sure.
Well this is good that we were humbled before
the games really mattered
by Burt D @ Blogging The Boys on Aug 25, 2007 9:44 PM CDT reply actions
Our corners stink...help
Ball got abused
by Dave Halprin on Aug 25, 2007 9:45 PM CDT up reply actions
Yep just lost any hope of a roster spot

What do you think of Joey thomas so far?
by Burt D @ Blogging The Boys on Aug 25, 2007 9:48 PM CDT up reply actions
Good thing we got 2 first picks next year
One will most probably be used on a corner if one is available.
Geez. Not a good night.
rb
it's nights like tonight that reinforce the idea of taking a rb with that 1st pick from cleveland (darren mcfadden). i was hoping we wouldn't need it & could use the high pick on a great corner, but you can almost guarantee the 1st 2 picks next year will be a rb & a corner or atleast it should be. it will be interesting to see what the cowboys do with barber & jones because both can leave via free agency & barber's agent is drew rosenhaus. can't see the cowboys paying alot of money to either one of these guys.

Marten just got pancaked onto Johnson
I COULDN'T CATCH THE GAME (FLORIDA)
I wasn't able to catch the game but tried to keep track on NFL.Com. It didn't seem like the defense played like they have been the last few games, and while I don't think Tony Romo looked too bad statistically, I have to wonder if he didn't struggle because of the lack of a running game. Can anyone fill me in, and let me know what happened?
