Cowboys sign Stephen Bowen

The Cowboys locked up one of their ERFA’s, DT Stephen Bowen.

The Cowboys re-signed their first exclusive-rights free agent on Thursday, inking Stephen Bowen to a one-year deal.

Bowen was an exclusive rights free agent, meaning he has little to no negotiating power once the team extends an offer.

The Cowboys signed him to a one-year deal worth $445,000.

I like Bowen, I think he’s an effective backup who can actually make plays when he gets time in the game. His pass-rushing skills are getting better and he gives us nice depth on the font line.

I'm suprised..

That they only signed him for one year....I seen flashes of good play....but I can't say I'm sold on him long term...He provides depth..If he excels next year..then what ?...we lose him for nothing after the season...or does he become a RFA ?...

True Cowboys diehard since 1975.

He's absolutely huge

I saw him going into his hotel room when I went to the Philly game. Took a lot of nerve to ask for that autograph...

glad we locked that mamma jamma up!

so does this mean Spears go bye bye?

and if he does, will Billy P try to get him in Mia? Seems like he was throwing some verbal jabs at the Tuna when he left and then ... he didn't back up his words with his play. I don't know. I like Spears personally. He's interviews are hilarious. But his play isn't what I expected. I wouldn't say "bust" but ... he ain't far from it.

I always liked Bowen

thought he was a really solid backup who flashed at times. Good signing and it makes me believe they're looking to trade Spears.
