Dolphins set interview with Tony Sparano
The Tuna is coming a-calling. Well, he‘s sending Tuna, Jr. out to do the work, but the Dolphins have finally set a time for interviewing Tony Sparano.
Tony Sparano will be busy on Saturday.
According to sources, the Dallas Cowboys' assistant head coach will interview with Miami general manager Jeff Ireland on Saturday locally after meeting with Baltimore executives earlier in the day.
I’ve maintained that if they interview Sparano then it’s probably over. I mean how much more can Ireland and Parcells learn about Sparano that they don’t already know?
Speaking of Sparano and Parcells, a former assistant coach that worked under Sparano in college ball says that Tuna and Sparano are similar coaches. But that wasn’t what caught my eye, check out his shot at Jason Garrett at the end of the quote.
"He's just like Parcells, a fiery, no-nonsense guy with a sarcastic sense of humor," said University of New Haven football coach Peter Rossomando, an assistant under Sparano when he led New Haven to a 41-14-1 record from 1994-98.
"Half the guys fear him, the other half loves him, but they all respect him. Trust me, that great offense in Dallas isn't because of [offensive coordinator] Jason Garrett."

Todd Archer does a mini season review.
Lenny P. put together his All-Pro team and only Jason Witten and DeMarcus Ware made it from the Cowboys.

I don't think its necessarily a shot at Garrett
as it is a very great compliment of Sparano. Obviously, he's worked with the guy and likes him, but knows nothing about Garrett.
All I know is if we lose both guys, our offense might be in big trouble next season.
if we lose them both we sign Cam Cameron..
Worked with wade before, and his system cant be too far off from what we are running now.

I thought the All-Pro Cowboys were accurate
I think Al Harris for All-Pro is a sham - TO just straight up abused him. I'm not sure you can be All-Pro with that kind of spanking on your resume, albeit from that type of player.
Maybe more talented
And no Devin Hester?
How can that guy not be on the all pro team? He was like 90% of the bears offense this season. Don't forget guys, the list came from the BSPN staff. Nuff said
devin hester
might be the best all around return guy but cribbs was ridiculous this year as a kick returner (10 yds better). hester was the better punt returner though and has more return yards overall. i dunno, i probably pick hester but cribbs isn't a bad pick.
and lenny P did this - a guy who probably has more football cred than anybody writing about football right now. nuff said

I'll Take Paul Zimmerman
Over Len Pasquarelli any day. Len has long sung the praises of Andy Reid and the Eagles, when they were choking at home in Championship Games. Now that Dallas is really good, he seldom mentions them. I've long suspected he has an anti-Cowboys bias...which makes him fit in very well at ESPN.
Lenny P may have football cred
but his list is too Patriots heavy and I still say BSPN controls his hand so that discounts the list IMO.
I'm wondering if the actual interview is really
necessary pursuant to league rules because in reality, I can't really think of anything that Ireland or Parcells for that matter wouldn't already know about Sparano.
How is Steve Hutchinson not an all pro?
Is nobody else seeing that Seattle's run game goes to crap after he leaves and now suddenly Min is one of the better run teams in football?
I realize that Adrian Peterson is a stud, but lets be honest here, Steve Hutchinson is the best guard in football.

Not unreasonable outcomes
will be interesting to see how close they are
wow, the Pitt win would be a shocker
not that they might win, but in a blowout, I really highly doubt that would happen given their health situation.
I hope that Pittsburg get crushed!
He's even taught my grandson to say "Go Steelers". Disgusting!
I hear ya wharter
A good old fashioned butt whoopin by the Jags would certainly make my weekend.
As a Jacksonville resident
I will be pulling hard for the Jags because this town doesn't appreciate them and they keep ending up as the "Bridesmaid" of the playoffs. A big win on the road would go a long way towards them getting the recognition they deserve.
Tony Sparano
Tony Sparano knows how to handle football adversity, which will be in plentiful supply in Miami. In high school, his team had only 16 players, so the 5 coaches had to play in practice. Tony was the punter, the center, and a defensive lineman, so he played every down. His school also did not have a football field to practice on, and no goal posts. If you think I'm kidding, just ask him.

secondary in the pro bowl
the secondary is sometimes considered a weakness and vulnerability of our defense, yet 3 of 7 defensive backs on the nfc pro bowl roster are cowboys.
no other team in the nfc or afc has more than 1.
How about
someone tell Parcells to go find some were else to find coaches, quit tryin to empty out our staff. Damn he pisses me off.

I wouldn't be surprised if JJ didn't subtlely
put an end to Tuna's overstepping his bounds.
