T.O. injury adding mystery to the week

I think Wade is playing the press for suckers, there’s no way the Giants are buying any of this.

Terrell Owens was still limping Monday on his sprained left ankle and his status for the Dallas Cowboys' playoff game next weekend is uncertain.

"It looks to me that it's going to be a game-time decision on him," coach Wade Phillips said. "It's Monday game week. He probably couldn't have played today."

[snip]

"If he were able to practice Wednesday or Thursday, Friday maybe, it'd clarify things a little easier," Phillips said. "If he can't (practice), that's why I said it'd have to be a game-time decision.

"From his history, from his toughness, his ability to withstand those kind of things, I think those are all positives," he said. "But you still don't want to put him in harm's way."

T.O. is going to play. It’s just a matter of how effective he will be.

Hat tip to Mullin for pointing me to this nugget from Matt Mosely’s blog.

By the way, I've talked to a member of Team T.O., and his trusty hyperbaric chamber has been in use constantly over the last week. It's also great to know that he's reunited with his personal trainer/part-time roomie Buddy Primm after a falling out last season.

And hat tip to TrueBlue24 for this tidbit off the DMN blog:

Well, a few offensive players said the Original 81 actually looked pretty good while running routes this morning.

No matter what Phillips says the rest of the week, expect T.O. to be ready to go Sunday afternoon against the Giants. Just don't let anybody in New York know that.

T.O. will play, he has to play. I can’t accept anything else, anyway. My head might explode.

T.O.

LOL, endless hype and speculation surround this guy even when he says absolutely nothing.

There are two Adrian Petersons, but there is only one Marion Barber.

Doesn't matter

Sure, it would be more comforting if T.O were 100 percent.  But I like the way we looked offensively vs. Carolina after the ankle injury.

Hurd, Austin, Witten, Fasano, Glenn, Crayton, MB3, Jones...These guys'll catch passes if T.O. can't.

Damn, these six days are gonna go by super slow...

T.O. is Go

I think this is unfolding just the way TO likes.  Everyone is talking about him, even though he doesn't have to say a word.  There's reason for people to doubt him.  The team laid a stinker its last game out.

And he's going to stroll out there in the final game of the weekend with the eyes of the nation on him and line up against the team from the nation's media capital.

The moment is building up in perfect TO fashion, and I bet he rises to the occasion.  (If he does, his post-game Q&A should be one for the record books.)

yeah, I feel good about this one

T.O. will definitely play, and my bet is that he's healthy enough to make a significant contribution.

I know I like to be an optimist like Terry, but I think the biggest reason the team stumbled somewhat at the end was simply lack of focus and intensity. We know it is really hard to stay focused and intense every week throughout a whole year. But I have no doubt whatsoever that they will be very intensely focused all this week and come game time. I like this from Crayton:

"You understand the magnitude of what's about to happen," Crayton said of the playoffs. "You understand all the excitement and that everything around you is going to step up to a whole 'nother level, so that's what you've got to do to your game. It's all about the focus and being keyed in. You've got to be locked in this week."

T.O. back with Glenn as well, a full healthy roster, keyed in and locked in = Boys win.

As entertaining as that might be

your head is safe, at least for this week. Owens will play and my guess - if past is prologue - he'll play well. With him at 80% and Glenn at something similar, there's a nice chance the offense will find it's way again.

What's really needed now is a prayer vigil for Tony's thumb....

I expect T.O. to play

though it doesn't really matter we could still beat them without him.

Although I'm very interested to see how we are going to use Glenn.

it would be really tight without him though

I'd much rather have him play

yeah

i agree we could beat them without him if Glenn plays well, but I'd rather have both of them at full capacity!
