Spagnuolo stays NYG DC

Star-divide

So, now that the DC position in NY is locked up, and Dom Capers is still free, how long before we lock him up?

I'm for his hiring - but is he willing to be the linebackers coach?  Or maybe if he becomes a defensive consultant, he can bring in one of his guys for that post.  Surely between all of the different coaching jobs he and Wade have had there must be someone that can step into that role.

There does seem to be a dearth of good coaching candidates.  Adding Dom would make our coaching staff one of the most experienced in the league.

Let's just hope Stewart can work out all of his anxiety issues.

Makes you wonder...

How much the fact that Snyder had already built a coaching staff from the ground up played into the Spags decision-making.

Who cares about Stewart?

He didn't really show me anything this year, and obviously can't handle the business side of football. He's soft, just like the man that brought him here.

If we need to declare Dom DC to bring him here

So be it, as long as Wade's on board. I've heard people state that Brian Stewart is Wade's boy, and we don't want to piss off the head coach, interim or not. Stewart, at least on the surface, isn't doing much.

I agree Moyal

Dallas is no place to start an apprenticeship program for (Stewart) DC's...I won't be relieved till I see it on the BSPN ticker that Capers is signed and taking over D.

Washington Gig

My question is who is going to take the Skins job with both coordinators set up and Snyder obviousely trying to do his best "Jerry Jones 2000-2004" impression. I mean, obviousely this coach is not going to have any say. Literally. It won't be his offense, or his guy running his offense. It won't be his defense, or his guys running his defense. He'll simply be the guy blowing the whistle at practice to change drills, and giving the pregame speach. I mean, I'd take that job, but I don't know many HC calibur coach's who would.

Fassel

Would think he is so desperate to get back into coaching at a high level, that he would take the job if offered.  Also, due to Fassel's coaching inactivity since Billick fired him and the fact that he would be a late hire, having the other coaches in place probably makes sense.

I certainly don't think Fassel is great choice, nor do I think Snyder went about things the right way.....but it's the Redskins, so I like what I see.

I don't understand why the national media isn't more critical of Snyder.  They were all over Jerry a year ago for hiring Garrett and then again when JJ hired a HC that had never won a playoff game.  I know that there's been some negative reports, but Snyder is making a mess of things and he doesn't seem to be getting kicked in the nuts by the media (like he should be).

Yeah and at least Jerry

has three rings so he gets the benefit of the doubt.  Seriously, what has Danny Boy done since becoming owner?  The Skins have had more head coaches than playoff wins and he seems to be getting worse, not better.  I'm pissed if I'm a redskins fan but happy since I'm not.

Redskins Radio Perspective

On The John Riggins Show, they look down on Dallas... saying that at least the Skins have won a playoff game more recently than our Beloved Cowboys have.

I hated hearing that, but you know what?  They're right, dog-gone-it!!!

One thing I do know right now, a few of my Redskin Fan Buddies (my bro included) are highly pi__ed @ Snyder at the moment.

Riggo seems to think that there might be another "mystery candidate" in the mix again.

I think the MSM doesn't make as big a deal out of this -- as opposed to if it was Dallas -- because America's Team is always relevant and an easy target due to the high-profile nature of this franchise... whereas the Washington Redskins are pretty much irrelevant.  That club doesn't seem to stir up as much national emotion as the Dallas Cowboys!!!

That's OK

I look down on the Redskins. They are the blueprint for how NOT to build an NFL champion.

You're right Silverblue, no team gets more criticized in the MSM than the Cowboys. That goes with the decades of success. But, I think the Pats are going to take some of the hate in the next few years. IMO
