Dallas Cowboys draft board parlor game; plus Chad Johnson hearts the Cowboys
The most interesting thing to happen in weeks concerning the Cowboys is the "rumored" exposure of the Cowboys draft board for defensive backs. BTB-regular DeRat posted the diary here and we’ve included the pictures. The latest parlor game for Cowboys fanatics is trying to make out the list of players in the pics. The first few are easy to discern but the later ones are kind of fuzzy, so go on over to the diary and give us your thoughts.
My guesses are:
#1 DRC
#2 Leodis McKelvin
#3 Kenny Phillips (S)
#4 Mike Jenkins
#5 Aqib Talib
#6 Either Tyrell Johnson or Josh Barrett (S)
#7 Looks like Charles Godfrey from Iowa
After that, I have no real guess. This is an interesting situation, on one hand, you’d think the Cowboys aren't dumb enough to expose their defensive back draft board like this. On the other hand, even if it’s just the defensive staff’s rankings, it would still hold a lot of weight and I would bet it’s not far off from what their official draft board defensive back rankings end up being. Also, I don’t believe the Cowboys set it up as some kind of diversion or joke, that seems out of the realm of possibility. Whatever the case, it makes for some fun speculation.

Todd Archer has a nice interview with DeMarcus Ware over at the DMN blog.

Chad Johnson has been making the rounds to the media and is not happy in Cincy. He also made a specific mention of the Cowboys. BTB-regular jsams covers it in this diary and the DMN blog has it here.
Here’s what Chad said about playing in Dallas in reference to winning the Super Bowl:
"If I end up in Dallas, I would just look at which finger I'm gonna put it on," Johnson declared. "That's it. Ain't no ifs, ands or buts about it."
On him and T.O. co-existing:
"It's gonna work," Johnson said. "T.J. (Houshmandzadeh) and Chad Johnson are no different than '81' and '85' because T.J. is a No. 1 receiver. We just happen to be two No. 1 receivers on the same team at the same time. It's no different."

Somebody buy Chad a clue
He can gripe all he wants, Cincy won't give him up (at least this season anyway) because of the cap hit they'd take, and we don't have the cap room to obtain him. He'd be a great addition to our offense, but it's not going to happen.
And he'd probably enjoy playing in Cincy more if he actually put some effort into being a solid teammate.

I still think its hard to believe the Cowboys
would let a picture of their draft board be taken, I agree with the BoysBlog that it was just a ranking compiled by a coach, not the scouts.
Hard to believe a guy like Cason isn't ranked higher than a player like Godfrey.
Could all be an elaborate smokescreen
Or not, or maybe they want other teams to think it's a ruse when in fact it's the exact rankings the scouts have as of right now. The conspiracy theorists are going wild with speculation.

I'd like to believe that...
But I have my doubts. I agree, it's amazing that this pic could get out. Very interesting to see Phillips so high on the list.
That does seem suggest that its not the true
board. I don't see how the Boys would rate Phillips over Jenkins and Talib, not to mention Reggie Smith.
I also agree it's hard to fathom the board would be allowed to be filmed, even as an accident. Silly season indeed.

Kenny Phillips
Very interesting to have Phillips on there. I wondered myself if he was the best available player on their chart what they would do.
Hamlin's just signed for a year and this should be a prove it year for Roy and Watkins. Some young Miami FS should spark some competition.
Can he play slot CB, perhaps?

The way he words it
"It's gonna work" makes it sound like something is being worked on.
HERES MY IDEA OF THe WAY....
its going to work out..we pick up pack man ( i know i here i boo's already but that deals is going down, so first rd cb isnst a priority second we get bolden or roy williams maybe keyseans long lost cousin so wr is set, so we trade down with one of our 1st. with miami they neen a qb because theres no way they pass long kid at #1,so they move back into the 1st to get brom we get their 2nd which is like a late fiest anyway take a rb then take a cb in the 2nrd and rolle the bones on next yeary draft maiami will still suck so were looking at a top 10.....and the best part anthony "themeatgringer" spencer forcers wade to come up with some d-packages he hasn't use sinse he was with budy ryan......dont read it give it some thought and you fall in love with the idea ,the one way it could get better was is we traded both 1sst rd picks.....take some time and really think about it........because with newman, henry, packman, hamlin and roy delivering bone shatterind bloews we we would be in insain,
