"Pacman talks between Cowboys, Titans stall"
Pacman Jones wants to go to Dallas, and the Cowboys apparently want him. How much they'll give up to get him is a different story.
Jones
A source close to the negotiations told ESPN's Ed Werder on Sunday night that trade talks between the Cowboys and Titans have stalled over the issue of compensation.

I'm not worried
This is either Tennessee desperately stalling in an attempt to get other teams involved or Jerry stalling to get an assurance of reinstatement from Goodell.

Yea
this was pretty foreseen. While the Titans are done with him, they know he's a talent and they'd like to get as much as possible for the guy. There's no rush for them right now and prolonging things gives them an opportunity to get other teams involved. This will likely work out in our favor as I don't see any another team making a play for him, but you can't blame them for trying.

I hope the Cowboys don't give in
and and hold firm on a take or leave it offer. Titans have no leverage whatsoever as no other team wants him. They'll cave eventually, but Jerry better play hardabll on this one.

It's not like
if we don't get him well be up isht creek. We have 2 good corners and a rookie can take over at the 3rd spot and we'll be quite solid. I think we'll stand firm.

true, we don't need Pacman, he's more
of a luxury than a need since we'll be drafting CBs in a few weeks anyway and who knows, they might end up being better than Pacman eventually.
I personally think Pacman is slightly overrated in terms of being a CB. He's no where near as good as the elite CBs such as Newman IMO. I think the real value he brings on the field is as a punt returner, which we need.

Or the draft dictates his value. . .
if we don't get anyone that we feel can contribute immediately, how much does A Jones value go up to the Cowboys?

OTHER TEAMS INTERESTED IN PACMAN?
Posted by Mike Florio on March 31, 2008, 6:22 p.m.
The Tennessee Titans and the agent/lawyer for cornerback Pacman Jones did their best a week or so ago to create the impression that teams other than the Dallas Cowboys hope to acquire Pacman’s services. And something strange has happened since it became clear that no one else is interested in Jones — other teams have become interested in Jones.
According to Terry McCormick of the Nashville City Paper, other teams recently have made overtures about acquiring Jones, throwing a wrench into what appeared to be a done deal to Dallas.
It’s not known who is or might be interested in Jones, and it could be that the Titans are merely blowing smoke. But if they are, they’ve gotten the Commissioner to play along, since he said on Monday that multiple clubs have contacted the league office for clarification regarding Jones’ status.
Despite the off-field concerns, Jones brings two valuable skills to the table. He is a solid cover man, and he can return kicks.Jones was suspended for all of the 2007 season, and he has not been reinstated. But he can be traded by the Titans to another team.

yeah, only if he's reinstated
which he isn't at this point and the commish hasn't given any indications if or when that will happen.

This goes down, for a 5th rounder...
...which is still probably too high.

The Titans are damn stupid
They are lucky to get anything. He's done for, kaput, will not play for Ten in 2008. Oh, by the way Pacman has made it clear he wants to play for Dallas, forget any potential suitors. I don't see any other option for the mighty Titans. The management is making themselves look foolish. Jerry Jones 100% leverage, Titans 0%.

I agree Tom, no ther team in the league
wants anything to do with him and wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole. Titans should feel lucky they actually have a team interested and should be happy with anything thats offered.
If I was Jerry and wanted to take this huge risk, I'd offer a 7th rounder and say take it or leave it because no other team is even remotely interested.

Me too, tell them to take it or leave it
If the Titans get nothing for Pacman, just cut him, think about how bad they will look if a divisional rival takes him. They'd look even more foolish if he plays well against them twice a season.
