Dallas Cowboys random articles
So what were Romo and T-New up to on Friday? Following around a 35-year-old amateur golfer at the Masters who lives in Irving and was once the runner-up to Tiger Woods in the 1994 amateurs.
So [Trip] Kuehne made his final run around Augusta, with famous friends following him, such as Tony Romo and Terence Newman of the Dallas Cowboys and sister-in-law-to-be Venus Williams.
The guy qualified for the Masters and wanted one shot at making the cut. He came up short.

Dallas Day talk by Nick Eatman.
Some of the top players in attendance on Friday included TCU defensive ends Tommy Blake and Chase Ortiz, Colorado cornerback Terrence Wheatley and Texas defensive tackle Frank Okam.
[snip]
The wild card among this bunch is likely Blake, who at one time was considered a solid first-round pick. But after undergoing a tumultuous senior season at TCU where he missed five games for a non-disclosed illness, Blake appears to be turning things around again.
Meanwhile, the Breerman weighs in here.
Colorado cornerback Terrence Wheatley, widely considered the top prospect at the event and a possible second-round pick, came after visits to Cleveland, Baltimore and New England over the last week. The Plano East alum declined to participate in testing after running a 4.37 40-yard dash at the combine, but he went through position drills and met with coaches.

Pacman will be applying for reinstatement in a couple of days.
His agent, Manny Arora, said Friday afternoon that Jones will apply for reinstatement to the league Tuesday.
Arora remains confident that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will reinstate Jones before the start of training camps, which begin in late July.

Don Banks lists the Cowboys as the #4 team with the pressure on in this draft. His reasons are having two first round picks so you have to produce, our desire to win now after going 13-3 but losing in the playoffs again, and that we got the new stadium coming and Jerry wants a winner moving in there.
Hat tip to the DMN blog for the link.
Also from the DMN blog, star of stage and screen Tony Curtis signed on to be a tight end for us again this year.

Hey, Tom Orsborn must have seen our pick in the Mocking The Draft mock draft. He’s on board with Antoine Cason and writes a glowing article. But Orsborn says wait until #28. Heck, either way we still got the two we wanted in the mock, well at least the two the majority of the community wanted.

Any more info on Tommy Blake?
Given the crap-shoot that is drafting, guys that are introduced with "once considered potential 1st-round material" ... in my humble opinion, should be targets as soon as we get past the second or third round. Canty is the most recent example on the Cowboys, but these stories are all over NFL rosters.
Here is my current leaning: I hope we take 3 cornerbacks and 2 running backs in this draft. Getting Pacman would be nice, but I still think we should be looking at a 1st round CB; if anything, it would keep Pacman's nose to the grindstone.
I don't share the same opinion when it comes to wide receivers. First, the Cowboys have THREE excellent prospects in Hurd, Austin and Stanback, all of which possess speed. Second, it seems an annual event that 2-3 wide receivers hit the free-agent wires. Finally, this draft doesn't exactly get my blood flowing with the top-end quality of the prospects. The bottom line: I'd rather go after a proven FA commodity.

Blake has serious mental health problems
Some scouts dont want anything to do with him, its not an injury he's suffering from
We wont be drafting two running backs or three corner backs. Corner is the number one need, the knucklehead(Pacman) will probably occupy one spot.
Wide receiver is a major need, T.O and Glenn are mid thirties and you cant count on Glenn anymre being healthy. He will need Micro fracture surgery at some point since his cartilidge in his knee was removed.
Hurd is nothing more than a third receiver, and crayton already occupies that slot, Austin will be hard pressed to even make the team, he's nothing special at all. Stanbach was redshirted last year as a result of his foot injury, he was drafted as a project, to learn the finer points of the receiver position, the kid has alot of upside. The cowboys need to draft a big number one receiver and a field stretcher/slot receiver, that they dont have one the roster after T.O

I might take Blake with a 5th rounder
but not much more. There are too many red flags and after the cowboys experience with Dimetrius Williams, it just seems too risky. Plus if he doesn't "need" football now, what will happen to his motivation once he gets paid.
I was okay with Pacman but I sure don't want the boys to become the cuckoo's nest of the NFL.
