Ben Sucklisberger takes shot at Romo

Ben Roethlisberger was on the Mike Tirico Show on ESPN Radio this afternoon, and he went on saying that he hadn't seen the Steelers schedule yet. So Tirico and Michele Tafoya took him through it.

Big Ben was respectful. Until, that is, they got down the line to Dec. 7, when the Steelers host the Cowboys.

"I got to play at Dallas, I think it was my rookie year," Roethlisberger said. "I'm glad they're coming up here to play us. I'm thinking about sending an all-expenses paid trip for Tony (Romo) to go to Mexico."

Tafoya shot back, "I thought you were going to bring Jessica to you."

And Roethlisberger played along. "We could do that too," Big Ben said. "I might just fly her in."

Umm, Sucklisberger weren't you the one who get injured in the motorcycle accident?

I really like Ben. Well, liked. That was low.

Heard this

I heard this last night on sportscenter. They played back the soundclip and he was totally joking around, there was no seriousness in his voice at all. I think I might not have gone there if I were him, but there was no malice whatsoever.

First to six!!!

Meh

I don't really think it's a big deal. It sounds like he was joking around.

Well....

I'm sure Tony will play worse than Ben did in Super Bowl XL...

There are two Adrian Petersons, but there is only one Marion Barber.

don't forget...

Perhaps Ben didn't play so well in the Super Bowl, but he was simply outstanding in all three playoff road victories that got Pitt to the Super Bowl. He wears a ring, and quarterbacks are defined by their rings.  Both Ben and Romo have many years left in them, but as of right now, when it comes to what each has accomplished, Big Ben is ahead of Romo.

Roethlisberger is a class act and the Steelers are a class organization.  I think Big Ben is poised for a great year, as is Romo.  I’d like to see a rivalry develop between those two like Staubach & Bradshaw.

I actually thought it was a backhanded

compliment. If he wants to fly Tony to Mexico obviously he's afraid and fears him.

In Romo we Trust

Doesn't bother me

It was a lay-up of a joke though, played-out and tired like most Tony/Jessica jokes.

I agree

that it was a joke. But still...

I know its a joke

but if I were Roethlisberger I would not take shots at other players considering he got in the motorcycle accident.

I dont have anything against Roethlisberger, always like him and still do.

Nice Big Ben

Maybe they'll exchange gifts.
Ben gets Tony tickets to Mexico and Tony gets him a motorcycle helmet.
