The Dallas Cowboys (1-1) go to Qualcomm Stadium to take on the San Diego Chargers (1-0) Saturday night at 8PM (CST). Dallas is expected to play its starters for much of the first half even though it is without two of its starting offensive linemen.
Jerry Jones says DE Marcus Spears is too "valuable" to trade..."period".
"We're just not interested, period," Jones said when asked about speculation by the Miami Herald that the Cowboys could trade Spears to the Dolphins. "His play is one of the strengths of that group. We're willing to take this thing into the season the way it is. We just have no interest."
The Cowboys allowed the fewest points in the NFC last season, and Jones suggested that he believes the run-stuffing Spears was a big part of that.
"Spears, I think, is too valuable for us for what we've got a chance to do," Jones said.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Director of Public Relations Rich Dalrymple to appear on tonight's episode of Entourage.
In Wade Phillips' first draft with the Cowboys, he selected Anthony Spencer. Also drafted in that Class of 2007 were Doug Free and Alan Ball, two players expected to start this season.
