Tony Romo has broken pinkie.. out 4 weeks

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has a broken pinkie on his throwing hand and will be out four weeks, a team source told ESPN's Michael Smith.

Romo initially was diagnosed with a pinkie sprain in Sunday's 30-24 overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Veteran quarterback Brad Johnson, the Cowboys' holder on kicks, is Romo's backup.

Now it's time to panic

Interesting article by Matt Mosley

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- For a few frantic moments Sunday, the Cowboys made you forget how pedestrian they've become. Marion Barber's mad dash to the end zone and a 52-yard field goal by Nick Folk at the end of regulation temporarily covered up another unimpressive effort.

But with one blocked punt return for a touchdown, the Cardinals delivered a jolt of reality. Arizona won the game 30-24, and any other result would've been a crime after watching the Cardinals dominate the second half.

The Cowboys probably should've turned the ball over four times in the first half, but they only had one. The aerial assault on what had been rumored to be an outmanned Cardinals secondary never materialized, and Tony Romo spent most of the day checking down to Barber.

Romo somehow always ends up with 300 yards and three touchdowns, but don't be fooled by those numbers -- or his 113.3 passer rating. He fumbled the ball three times, and was fortunate to lose only one. The only thing that prevented him from giving up a touchdown in the first half was the tuck rule, which makes less sense every time I see it called.

Adam Jones apologizes to the team

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- After their last full practice of the week Friday, Cowboys cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones huddled the team around him on the field.

Then he apologized for bringing unintended controversy to the Cowboys and vowed such an incident would not happen again.

Linebacker Bradie James -- one of the defensive captains -- met with Jones one-on-one and warned him not to alienate a team that has embraced him despite his troubled history.

Cool site

I'm not sure whether or not some of you guys know about this site but I just wanted to pass it along. It's called Whatifsports.com. The link is coming up.

Here you can take NFL teams and play them against each other, like the 2007 Cowboys vs the 1992 Cowboys. You can pick weather conditions, who is home and away, change starting lineups and much much more. You can also play NHL, NBA, and MLB all time great teams and simulate them versus each other, and they also provide boxscores of what happened in each game. If you have a chance, check it out.

Week 6 Madden '09 Simulation

Arizona jumped out to an early 10-point lead against the Cowboys, but it was all Dallas after that as the Cowboys beat the Cardinals 21-16.

Felix Jones displayed his impressive show of speed, scoring on a 19-yard run to give Dallas their first lead of the game, and the Cowboys never looked back. Tony Romo threw for 214 yards and two touchdowns for Dallas and Patrick Crayton caught four passes for 94 yards and a score.

Terrell Owens caught only three passes in the Dallas victory. Luckily for the Cowboys, there is no virtual complaining in Madden.

No disciplinary action by team vs Adam Jones

Well Dallas got some good news, if you call it that, with what transpired with Adam Jones Wednesday night. What does everyone else think on this issue?

An internal investigation by the Dallas Cowboys into Adam "Pacman" Jones' latest incident concludes that he was not in violation of his contract, or the understanding about conduct he had with owner Jerry Jones, a high-ranking team official said.

Cowboys need reality check says Matt Mosley

The Dallas Cowboys have quite a dilemma on their hands. They not only aspire to be a championship team, they expect to be treated like one before it happens.

It's an attitude that's reflected by head coach Wade Phillips, a man who believes that his team is held to an impossible standard. After all, he just beat the Cincinnati Bengals by -- count 'em -- nine points.

No, Phillips doesn't get it, and his message of football tolerance permeates throughout the locker room. He can't figure out that you don't get the benefit of the doubt until you've actually accomplished something.

Terrence Newman listed as questionable

News: Newman is listed as questionable for Week 5 because of a groin injury, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Spin:This is the injury that has nagged him so far this season. It's troubling that he wasn't listed on the injury report on Wednesday or Thursday, but he was added on Friday. Newman may have suffered a setback.

I found this to be very interesting.  Is this a real "tweak" of the injury or is it becaus eof his poor play last week??

Week 5: Madden simulation

Dallas bounces back after suffering their first loss of the season to beat the winless Bengals 24-17.

But with all the talk circling Terrell Owens, it was the Tony Romo to Patrick Crayton connection that did all the damage. Romo completed 21/36 passes for 242 yards including two touchdown strikes to Crayton to pull out the win.

The Bengals did manage to fight their way back into the contest after falling behind 24-7 in the third quarter, but their 10-point fourth just wasn't enough to avoid dropping to an embarrassing 0-5.

Cowboys want Adam Jones to keep low profile

There have been no reports of problems for Adam "Pacman" Jones in his second chance at an NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys. And the team apparently is willing to be cautious to keep it that way.

According to a source, the Cowboys, concerned that Jones has been raising his public profile a bit too much of late, put a stop to his appearance at a celebrity beach volleyball match last weekend, The (Fort Worth) Star-Telegram reported. Jones was expected to headline the event along with Dallas Mavericks forward Brandon Bass.
