Dallas and the Wildcat formation
What do you guys think about the Cowboys implementing this. Getting Felix and Barber on the field at the same time. We could have Felix or Barber receive the snap and either hand it off to the other, chose a hole and go, or pass the ball. I think it would be possible with our O Line, and provide a few more big plays each game. I think we need to get Felix more involved and Felix is used to this formation from Arkansas as him and McFadden ran this formation. McFadden would take the direct snap and hand it off take it or pass it.

Has Tony Romo lost his Swagger?
Romo has turned the ball over atleast once in the last 8 games. Seven Turnovers in the first 5 weeks. Some of these turnovers have been very crucial or thrown in the red zone. Things just don't look like they're clicking as they should on the field. Crayton's numbers have declined as well as Owens. He seems to force bad throws and make poor decisions. He just does not seem very confident anymore. He can be seen sitting on the bench with his helmet still on (a la Ricky Williams). He just doesn't seem to have that swagger that we have grown to love about him. Sure the touchdowns and yards look good, but the turnovers are and will be costly.

Chris Simms Released
Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have cut quarterback Chris Simms.
Simms is not eligible for waivers, which means he becomes an unrestricted free agent and can sign with any team he chooses.
One team that may be interested in Simms’ services is Chicago, where starter Kyle Orton and backup Rex Grossman don’t inspire much confidence. Although Caleb Hanie is on the Bears’ roster as the third quarterback right now, it seems likely that he could be out of work and the Bears could make an offer to Simms.
Simms started 15 games in five years for Tampa Bay.
What do you guys think? Are we still in need of another quarterback, or are we just fine with Brad Johnson and Rich Bartel?

Marcus Spears Underrated?
We've all been hearing for years about how Marcus Spears has yet to live up to his first round potential, but have we been expecting too much from a defensive end in a 3-4 scheme? Are we expecting him to have double digit sacks every year? Could he be doing his job well without anyone noticing?
I was reading Spagnola's article on the Cowboys website here. He goes onto say:
Spears' first priority, especially playing the wide tackle, is to stop the run, and that job becomes more complicated since the left side of the defense is the right side of the offense, which usually is the strong side, or the side where the tight end lines up, putting an extra blocker to that side.
Now here's the next fact: The Cowboys finished No. 6 against the run in 2007. They gave up an average of 94.6 rushing yards a game. Only two teams gave up considerably less, Minnesota (74.1) and Baltimore (79.3). No other team gave up less than 89.9. So pretty good, right?
Plus, the number of rushing yards the Cowboys had given up decreased in each of Spears' three seasons. He should get brownie points for that.
But nope, Spears doesn't get a break. All anyone wants to look at are his sacks, and that's not much to look at. He has just 4½ in three seasons, probably not bad for a defensive tackle, but for a traditional defensive end, which he is not, not so good.
Then again, few want to factor into the equation that Spears is not on the nickel defense, so when it comes time to rush the quarterback, he's watching from the sideline.
Now again, just the facts. The perception of most is that Chris Canty, the right side defensive end, a guy playing on his restricted free-agency tender, deserves an extension, and frankly, I'm right there with that perception. And if not an extension, then certainly a new deal before heading into free agency next year.
Canty, who not only plays on the right side where there normally is less congestion on the line of scrimmage, has totaled seven sacks in his first three seasons. So a grand total of 2½ more than Spears, and that's not much when you consider he does play on nickel downs, inside from a defensive tackle position next to Jay Ratliff on the four-man line.
What are your thoughts? I personally hadn't noticed much from Spears until this offseason. He may be ready to have a break out season. Do you think Jerry would extend both Canty and Spears' contracts?

Madden 09 Xbox Live
I would like to whoop up on some of you Madden players. Lets get a list going of everyone's Xbox Live gamer tag. Maybe we can set up a BTB Online Madden league. I was thinking maybe 12 teams possibly a fantasy draft? What do yall think? Maybe we can get some others from the other SportsNation site,s and get a little league going for a little bit more competition.

Breaking News
Dallas, TX (AP) - A seven-year-old boy was at the center of a Texas
courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who
should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by
his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in
keeping with child custody law and regulations requiring that family
unity be maintained to the degree possible.
The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him
more than his parents did and he adamantly refused to live with her.
When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the
boy cried out that they also beat him.
After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning
that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the
judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who
should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal
references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted
temporary custody to the Dallas Cowboys, whom the boy firmly believes
are not capable of beating anyone.
