From the DFW Star-Telegram:
The Cowboys signed tackle Cliff Washburn to a one-year contract on Friday. Washburn, a 6-5, 293-pound offensive tackle from The Citadel, originally signed with the New York Giants as a rookie free agent in 2003, but was released at the end of camp. He was on the Chicago Bears' practice squad in 2003 and was allocated to Amsterdam of NFL Europe in the spring of 2004.
Washburn returned to the Bears practice squad and went to camp with the club in 2005, but was released prior to the start of the season.
Matt Mosley drops this nugget on us from one of his articles:
But while we're talking offensive tackle, let me share some shocking numbers with you: Most of you know I've been a Rob Petitti apologist since training camp, but according to Stats Inc., he led the league in sacks allowed with 13 ½. And since I know what your next question is, Torrin Tucker was second in the NFL with 12 ½ sacks. In defense of Petitti, at least he spread his sacks over a 16-game season.
Tucker came up with 12 ½ sacks in only 10 games!
Drew Henson is finally going to get some playing time... in Europe.
