Owens hearts Vandy

Owens on Vandy:

"I don't see what he did wrong to warrant him being cut," Owens said. "I hope it doesn't come back to haunt us. Whoever made that decision, I'm pretty sure they're hoping the same thing."

"Going into the Colts game, the guy was 12-of-15. That's still a high kicking percentage," Owens said. "He didn't lose any games for us. If I had to put myself in the mix, I feel like I lost some games and I'm still here, so it's just unfortunate."

Hat tip to Deke for pointing out the article.

There's a new DCFanatic Radio Show up, give it a listen here.

Did you guys check out Strahan's "crazy like a fox" performance on ESPN? I couldn't decide if he was just losing it, or he was just losing it to take all the attention on him and somehow create a media vs. the Giants situation. Maybe he figured out that when you're desperate, a team can rally around a cause, but it's hard to rally around team unity when they're killing each other in the media. So Strahan figured he'd create a bogey-man they could all rally around and abuse, the media.

Here's ESPN's take.

By the way, the Giants are getting a little healthier.

The one piece of good news the Giants got Wednesday was that All-Pro defensive end Osi Umenyiora and weakside linebacker Brandon Short both practiced Wednesday. They were both hurt in a win at Dallas and have missed the last five games.

Patrick Crayton was just on ESPN News. Rough summation of the interview:

Parcells hasn't said anything about Shockey's comments to them; they don't need bulletin board material.

Thoughts on Vandy being cut: Guess Parcells had had enough. It's a "what have you done for me lately" league.

Rivalry with the Giants? It's 2nd behind the Redskins rivalry. Can't stand Washington, Giants or the Eagles.

Mood after the first loss to the Giants? Sour. We left opportunities on the field, had penalties, sacks and turnovers. We have to take care of our business at the Meadowlands and get a win.

How has Romo changed things?  In the win/loss column mainly. He brings energy to the offense, a different aroma. (Ha, was that a play on Romo's name? Pretty clever Patrick Crayton). Receivers are anxious to run the routes because we expect the ball, JJ and MB3 are a good 1-2 punch.

Is Romo cocky? He's got a swagger, you see it in the huddle and all during the week.

Is he dating Jessica Simpson? No idea, no one talks about that in the locker room. Romo must have a really good publicist who is making that up.

T.O. as a teammate? He's grown closer to everybody, on and off the field. During practice T.O., Terry, myself and Romo are always talking, scheming about routes. He's very involved.
