Wow, was I ever wrong. I said earlier today that Julian Peterson would never get the kind of guaranteed money he was looking for, so much for my analysis of the situation.
Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Seattle Seahawks have reached an agreement with free agent LB Julian Peterson to a seven-year contract worth $54 million. The deal includes $18.5 million in guarantees, including $10 million for the 2006 season.
If they match the offer for Steve Hutchinson they've laid out a lot of money. The Cowboys would have an opportunity to make an offer for K Josh Brown and force the Seahawks to think long and hard before matching it.
Update [2006-3-21 0:55:48 by Grizz]: The Seahawks declined to match the Viking's offer sheet for OG Steve Hutchinson. Might be a little tougher to pry Josh Brown loose now.
