Nick Eatman says the release of La'Roi Glover was not related to the CBA discussions but just made economic sense.

No, the Cowboys officially released La'Roi Glover Thursday and placed linebacker Dat Nguyen on the reserved/retired list to avoid a pair of roster bonuses due on Friday that just made economic sense. This also would seem to mean the Cowboys are set to pay the $500,000 roster bonus owed Greg Ellis on Friday, keeping the defensive end around for his ninth season as Cowboys owner Jerry Jones promised.

We also released S Derek Pagel, K Brett Visintainer and DT Willie Blade.

Drew Henson is at it again, here's another installment of his diary. This was what I found to be the most riveting paragraph.

I've been thinking about a couple of things that I might need going over to Germany. I'm going to pick up some toiletries like toothpaste, shampoo and deodorant. I know I'll be able to get that in Germany, but I also want to get as much as I can now. I'll also pick up some adapters for my computer and phone cards. I've been talking to the guys that are from France and Germany and they've been telling me things that I might need that are slightly different.

If that doesn't make you want to read the whole thing, nothing will.

This article says the Eagles are going to sign free agent C LeCharles Bentley.

The Eagles will have to wait a few more days, but it appears as if their first big free-agent signing of the off-season is going to be LeCharles Bentley, the Pro Bowl center from the New Orleans Saints.
According to a source close to the center, Bentley's interest in joining the Eagles is so strong that only the delay in the free-agency period prevented the move from happening today.

Not what I wanted to see to start my day!
