The RanchReport (sub. required) does their own mock draft, or more accurately, their own Cowboys pick at #18 mock draft. They managed to make in interesting by picking someone I haven't seen in most of the mock drafts. Skipping on the LB, OL, FS, WR need positions, they take the best player available. Because if Brodrick Bunkley drops to 18, he's probably the best player available at that spot.
When you consider that defensive tackle is one area of the team that has taken a serious hit with the loss of La'Roi Glover this off-season and also that the Cowboys have also yet to sign a quality free agent at the position, this selection makes sense.
Simply put, Bunkley is the type of player that can excel in the Cowboys defensive scheme.
He has an extremely strong upper body and gets across the line very quickly - often collapsing the pocket on pass plays or forcing running backs to stop and try to bounce plays outside on runs that were intended to go up the middle.
Nick Eatman breaks down the cornerback postion for Dallas in terms of the draft. Not surprisingly, CB itself is not a big area of need, but the FS positon may cause a shuffle in the secondary and a CB in the draft may be part of the puzzle.
