Your humble blogger - me, Grizz - just spent the last few hours waiting in line to get my $25 copy of the new book T.O. signed by the author, Terrell Owens. That's right, Owens was in Atlanta to do an in-store book signing and I hauled my lazy butt to the outskirts of Atlanta, forked over my cash for the book, and got my book signed.
Now I know I said a few weeks ago that I wasn't going to buy the book, but when I found out he was doing a signing in Atlanta, I thought it was my duty to you - the readers - to go and see the man in person. So I drove through rush hour traffic - which in Atlanta is a nightmare - to a bookstore in the suburbs and did my duty. Owens showed up 35 minutes late because - yep, you guessed it - he got stuck in traffic.
After he got there I only had to wait for another 30 minutes or so to get the book signed as I was pretty near the front of the line. They were moving people through the line rapidly, they even came to you before you got to the table and opened your book to the correct page for him to sign. I did manage to say to Owens once I got to the table that he needs to take us back to the Super Bowl this year. He replied with a big T.O. smile and said "Aiiight"! And then it was over as they moved me on and the next person plopped down their book for a signature.
