Williams signs 4 year extension

Hat Tip to Tuna Helper

DMN is reporting that the Cowboys signed Roy Williams to a contract extension of 4 years worth $25 million, including $11 million in bonus money. Says Jerry Jones,

"I gave him a big handshake on the field, but I didn't pay him yet," Jones said with a smile. "We've been working real hard on this.

"Roy is probably the second most visible player on this team behind Terrell. He brings leadership to the team and what he brings to the game is being the most physical player in the NFL."

Way to go Jerry, it's nice to get that high priority signing out of the way before the season starts. I know some bloggers here don't agree, but in my book Roy is the best strong safety in the league and definitely deserves this new contract.
