Paul Chryst keeps Cowboys waiting

Over at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, they're reporting there's a real tug of war going on over Wisconsin OC Paul Chryst. The Cowboys want him, and Wisconsin wants him too - and just offered him a new contract with a big raise.

In the last week the University of Wisconsin's offensive coordinator has interviewed with the Dallas Cowboys for a vacant position on their staff and received a multiyear contract offer to remain with the Badgers, who finished in the top 10 of both major polls last season.

Yet according to sources, neither Dallas coach Wade Phillips nor UW coach Bret Bielema had learned of Chryst's plans as of Monday.

Now, there's word that Norv Turner might be getting into that mix. They worked together previously.
Chryst would be an ideal fit for Turner as his offensive coordinator or quarterbacks coach and, according to a source, Turner has already contacted Chryst.

Andre Gurode got paid. $5 million a year? Prices are going up in the NFL. From the DMN blog:

Still trying to track down the numbers of Andre Gurode's new deal, but I'm told it is close to $5 million per season and included around $10 million in guarantees. So if we're talking, hypothetically, a six-year, $30 million deal for Gurode, I'd be curious to see the structure.

The key for Gurode is how much he will receive in the first three years.
