Combine and other stuff

Here are a few guys I want Dallas to take a very close look at during the combine.

There is an impressive list of interior linemen such as Arron Sears of Tennessee, Ben Grubbs of Auburn, Justin Blalock of Texas...

Jerry isn't likely to spend a lot of money in free agency this year based on his own statements. But here's one guy I'd love to see with the star on his helmet.

The Ravens have decided not to use the franchise tag on Adalius Thomas and will allow the All-Pro linebacker to become an unrestricted free agent on March 2, general manager Ozzie Newsome said today.

Thomas has led all NFL linebackers in sacks (28) since 2004, including 16 in his past 21 games.

[snip]

Several teams are expected to show interest in Thomas, including the San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers -- all of whom have more salary cap room than the Ravens and can offer Thomas substantially more in a long-term contract.

Thomas is likely looking at a contract that includes at least a $12 million signing bonus.

Seattle just franchised K Josh Brown, so the Cowboys just need to get Martin Gramatica re-signed and take that worry off the table.

Here's a recap of the day at the combine. Included is a blurb on Justin Blalock:

Measured in at 6-3 1/4, 320. Will do a full workout.

More comfortable at tackle, but supposes he'd better get used to guard.

A lot of teams are interested, "and I hope it continues," but this Texas native hopes he is drafted by the Dallas Cowboys.
