Colombo wants to stay in Dallas

Some notes on the Cowboys, including Marc Colombo, from FOX Sports:

The Cowboys already did the right thing by re-upping with center Andre Gurode before he hit free agency. Now it's time to do the same with Marc Columbo.

The veteran left tackle told me last week he really wants to be back in Dallas. Columbo loved the organization, his line mates and playing for quarterback Tony Romo.

Columbo, a former first-round pick of the Bears, has battled back from nasty injuries and surgeries. He is a supremely consistent performer and solid locker room presence.

Don't be surprised to see the Cowboys go after a guard, like Steinbach, via free agency.

Give me Colombo back at RT, and sign Steinbach/Dielman, and/or draft a young guard like Blalock/Grubbs and I'll be a happy camper. I'd even be happy with trying Davis at guard, but you better have a backup plan if he doesn't work out, and he better come with a reasonable contract.

One bit of advice to the writer at Fox Sports, the dude's name is Colombo, not Columbo. He's not solving crimes on TV in an old trench coat.
