Marco Rivera says he shall return.

"I've been in the game too long to worry about those things," Rivera said. "The five best guys are gonna play."

Rivera said his rehab is coming along but he doesn't know when he will come back. He said the goal is to be ready for the season opener in September.

"I'm not a magician," Rivera said. "I can't speed up the healing process. I wish I had a crystal ball. I will get back as soon as possible. We'll see what happens."

"The five best guys are gonna play." You're not one of them.

Ryan Fowler could sign a contract as soon as toady with another team.

Restricted free agent linebacker Ryan Fowler could sign an offer sheet with the Titans or Eagles as early as this morning, according to his agent, Alan Herman.

Herman said he had "pretty significant dialogue" with Titans senior director of football administration Vincent Marino Saturday.

Ryan Fowler would be missed on special teams. It's not easy to find guys who are really special on special teams. Because of guys like Ryan Fowler and Keith Davis, Dallas could afford a kicker whose best kickoff efforts usually hit the 5-yard line. Fowler excelled in coverage. But if the Eagles or Titans want to pay him, then Fowler should take it. They are talking about giving him a chance to start, so it's doubtful Dallas would match that kind of money.
