SI.com: Negotiations with Leonard Davis stall

Don Banks at SI.com:

Dallas and former Cardinals offensive tackle Leonard Davis are deep into negotiations, league sources said Friday. Talks have hit a snag on Davis' request for a $12 million signing bonus and a deal that averages $5 million per season. Davis is Dallas' first choice to replace offensive tackle Marc Colombo, who was allowed to test the free-agent market this week.

That's actually a little lower than I thought he would ask for, but still too much for a guy who has never been a consistently good lineman. Good for Jerry for trying to hold down the cost, but I still think Jerry will give into his own desires and end up over-paying. As for being the top choice to replace Marc Colombo - now I'm getting scared. Davis at tackle is not what I had in mind.

By the way, odds of completing the deal tonight have plummeted to 36%.
