More mock drafting

The NFL Network did a brief Cowboys special on Total Access and while they picked Brandon Merriwether for the Cowboys in the draft, they also mentioned the linebacker position. Patrick Willis was the name they brought up and Marshall Faulk suggested the Cowboys could use a little more speed at inside linebacker. But overall, they mentioned safety as the biggest position of need.

Updated Vic Carruci mock draft.

22. Dallas: Darrelle Revis, CB, Pittsburgh
Revis, who also can contribute as a return specialist, shows good coverage skills and has the size and strength to help against the run. If new coach Wade Phillips can plug in Revis as a starter right away, he could move veteran cornerback Anthony Henry to free safety.

I guess that idea of moving Henry to FS is still floating around even though Jerry Jones said the Cowboys have cooled on that idea.

Pat Kirwan updated mock draft.

22. Dallas: Michael Griffin, S, Texas -- The Cowboys will look at the best corners, safeties and wide receivers at this spot. With three or four solid wide receivers and at least two defensive backs left with first-round grades, Jerry Jones will get a good player.

So much for that supposed visit by FB Vonta Leach this week, he signed an offer sheet from the Giants.

Hat tip to MysterD for the story, his diary is here.
