Crazy Ray had his memorial service yesterday, and there are plenty of articles recapping the scene. Mickey Spags here, the DMN here, and the DFW S-T here. They also have video of the service at each of those articles. It was nice to see that Ray's old nemesis - but really one of his best friends - Chief Zee, was in attendance. The Redskins mascot even donned a Cowboys' hat in Ray's honor. It sounds like Crazy Ray got a well-deserved send-off. He was one of a kind.
The Cowboys offseason conditioning workouts begin tomorrow. While everybody knows they're voluntary, it's expected that the players participate. Under Parcells, it was a big no-no not to attend. Under Phillips, it's the same, but he takes a more trusting approach. He's also going to utilize the maximum time available for on the field teaching.
Phillips is considering holding a second full-scale minicamp and using 14 days for so-called "on-field team activities" - the maximum number allowed in the off-season.
"That's where we'll do a lot of our teaching," Phillips said.
Jen Floyd Engel makes her case for the Cowboys picking a WR with their first pick.
