Colombo talks are stalled; QB may visit

Aargh! This is just the kind of news I didn't want to see.

The Cowboys have not had much progress in talks with the agent for Colombo on a long-term deal, which means Davis could play right tackle. Assistant head coach Tony Sparano is high on two young guards, Cory Procter and Joe Berger, in case Rivera is unable to return.

I don't know how good Procter or Berger are, but my bet is they won't be as good as Davis at guard and Colombo at tackle. C'mon Jerry, do the right thing here. And if you can't get Colombo, consider Pat McQuistan and take a look at the draft for another right tackle candidate.

Also, QB Brad Johnson is supposed to visit Dallas any day now.
