Babe returns; guard coming for a visit

The Babe is back in the booth.

[Babe] Laufenberg, a former Cowboys quarterback from 1989-90, replaces Charlie Waters, who worked all 21 games last season, from the preseason to the playoff loss in Seattle.

Back in January, Waters announced he would not return to the booth, citing time constraints with juggling a full-time job and preparing for the games on a weekly basis.

Laufenberg, who said spending more time with his family was the reason he chose not to return for last season, remains the current sports anchor of KTVT-TV/CBS 11 in Dallas. From 1991 to 2005, he spent 15 seasons working on the Cowboys radio broadcasts, either with the pre-game and post-game shows, or as the radio analyst.

Some guard named Andy Alleman from Akron is coming to visit the Cowboys. Here’s an article about him and his time spent leading up to the draft.

Draft season has been a whirlwind. Today, Alleman will take a short ride to the airport from his home in Greentown. He’ll fly to Dallas to meet with the Cowboys.

Here’s a scouting report.

Here’s another from the Cleveland Browns site.
