Ayodele has minor knee surgery

This one snuck up on me. Akin Ayodele had to undergo minor knee surgery and will be out for a little while.

Cowboys starting inside linebacker Akin Ayodele has not worked out during this week's organized team activities because he's recovering from minor surgery on his right knee.

Ayodele underwent surgery on Tuesday to clean out the knee.

He had problems with the backside of the knee cap during the regular season and was advised to give it rest. After last week's minicamp, Ayodele said the knee was again giving him troubles.

{snip}

Ayodele, an Irving native, said if he's not 100 percent, he will also skip the next two activities scheduled for May 29-June 1 and June 5-7.

Just everybody get healthy for training camp. That includes Greg Ellis and Isaiah Stanback.

Matt Mosley has a new blog over at ESPN called Hashmarks, a named picked by Ricky Williams and Quincy Carter. I kid. Anyway, Mosley passes along this note about Keyshawn.

Keyshawn's done with football, of course, but he'll be reuniting with Bill Parcells. He'll will join the Tuna on TV on ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" and "Monday Night Countdown."

"I've done everything I wanted to do in my career," he said at a news conference today. "I just couldn't find one thing that could drive me back to playing football. As I learned from Bill Parcells -- the circus doesn't stay in town very long."

The Tuna and MeShawn together again. Apparently, ESPN will have to enlarge the studio set to accommodate all the new egos.

A paper asked Michael Irvin the following question about his induction day into the Hall of Fame.

Q: The odds on you crying that day?

A: "I don't know. I'm learning more and more what it means to be a Hall of Famer. And I have used the Hall of Fame as a springboard, many a time. When I got tired, and I'd go, "Man, this is what it takes to be a Hall of Famer." And so I knew the enormity of it all, but I couldn't grasp it all until I got here and started going through it. So for me to tell you that I'm going to be in total control of my feelings.... I don't know what the happenings will be that day."

The odds are 100%. Vegas won’t take action on that bet, it’s a lock.
