Tim MacMahon over at the DMN blog reports on the last roster cut. It wasn't Gramatica, as I speculated it might be, but just a never used tackle, Pete Lougheed. And there's a reason they waited.
...the Cowboys released offensive tackle Pete Lougheed. The Cowboys had to wait a day because Lougheed was having his shoulder examined on Monday.
Tim says they never considered releasing Gramatica at this cut. He also reported Terry Glenn was back doing rehab on the field with Doug Free and posted about Stanback not being ready to return punts.
"If I was them, I wouldn't put me back there yet, either," Stanback said.

The truth is that Stanback is struggling to catch punts during practice. He's never done it before, and it's not as easy as it sounds. Does he think he can be a punt returner down the road?
"Yeah," he said, "but I need a lot more work at it."
Patrick Crayton is the best option right now, Jerheme Urban has not impressed, but maybe they'll give Quincy Butler a chance. He was doing it early in camp before the injury. And no, there's no way they let Newman do it with his foot injury.
