I’m working my way through the film review, but Mondays are so busy the day after a game, I don’t know if I’ll finish it tonight. It may be delayed until tomorrow morning. But here are some other observations:
A lot of people were noticing that the Cowboys defense looked gassed. They probably were. I didn’t see Kevin Burnett play on defense, Bobby Carpenter only made cameo appearances and Justin Rogers didn’t play on defense. So that means that DeMarcus Ware, Anthony Spencer, Bradie James and Akin Ayodele played virtually the whole game. Throw in Jason Ferguson’s injury that shortened the line rotation and you had some tired guys out there.
I think it’s time for Jason Hatcher to get some more time at DE, Marcus Spears continues to play the quietest DE in NFL history. Let’s switch in Hatcher for some quality time. I don’t want to move Spears inside to NT; considering how poorly he’s play at end, I don’t want him manning the middle of our 3-4 defense.
Roy Williams' play in the secondary is still predictably bad. In other news, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead. Wade tried to cover for Roy in the press conference, but in doing so, inadvertently highlighted that he thought Roy had a bad game.
I read BTB-regular boysandbosox’ diary on Tank Johnson. But I was more interested in the piece at the bottom that discussed T.O. possibly giving Gibril Wilson the finger as he was running to the endzone resulting in Wilson giving him a hard shove at the end of the play. I noticed there was something weird when I saw the replays earlier today, but I though Owens’ was waving bye-bye to Wilson with his hand down low. When I went back and ran it on Tivo, Owens definitely has a finger extended, but I can’t conclude if it’s "the finger" or Owens just giving him the "I’m #1 finger".
Update [2007-9-10 18:35:37 by Dave Halprin (Grizz)]: Pohotgraphic evidence shows it was the index finger, so Owens was giving him the "I'm #1 finger." Hat tip to mhuff13 in the comments who links to the pic.
