The fake Wade Phillips press conference (9/28/07)

Wade Phillips had a press conference today. Let me transcribe what the Dallas-area scribes would think is a perfect press conference, instead of today's gathering.

Dallas-area press: Wade, does Marion Barber remind you of any back you've had before?

Wade: I don’t really like to compare players, backs have their own styles.

Dallas-area press: You were supposed to say Earl Campbell.

Wade: Earl Campbell was the NFL Player of the year and was one of the greatest backs ever to play in the NFL.

Dallas-area press: Still, you could have said Earl Campbell so I could write my article.

Wade: I’m not Mr. Fix It, so I won’t fix your article.

Dallas-area press: Wade, does Flozell Adams remind you of any player you’ve had before?

Wade: He reminds me of every lineman I ever had that got a false start penalty.

Dallas-area press: I can’t use that in my article.

Other Dallas-area press: Wade, does Nate Jones remind you of any player you’ve had before?

Wade: Uhhhh...no.

Dallas-area press: Wade, does rookie Justin Rogers remind you of any player you’ve had before?

Wade: Who?

Dallas-area press: Wade, for the 20th time, does DeMarcus Ware remind you of any player you’ve had before?

Wade: I've got to drop some kids off at the pool, I'll see you guys on Sunday.

Anyway, in the real press conference Wade talked about MB3 (and Earl Campbell) and Tony Sparano but there wasn’t any real news. Both Newman and Ellis are questionable and Keith Davis is doubtful, but probably out.
