Here’s the bad news my friends, Terry Glenn is out for two weeks or more. But that's better than what DallasCowboys.com had posted earlier.
DallasCowboys.com had a story up by Rob Phillips at this link posted at 5:38 today that said he is out for the year. They've since put up a new story timed at 5:58 today here, that says only two weeks, possibly more.
Update [2007-9-6 20:19:53 by Dave Halprin (Grizz)]: The old link now automatically jumps you to the new article. You can see it transition from the old story to the new one if you watch closely enough. 2nd update: the link to the original story is broken now. Was the Cowboys site hacked? What happened? [END UPDATE]
Sorry for the confusion.
Here's what it says now:
Three days before their regular-season opener, the Cowboys learned wide receiver Terry Glenn's problematic right knee likely will force him to miss two weeks and possibly more, team owner and general manager Jerry Jones said late Thursday afternoon.
Here's what it said earlier:
Three days before their regular-season opener, the Cowboys learned wide receiver Terry Glenn's problematic right knee will force him to miss the entire 2007 season, team owner and general manager Jerry Jones said late Thursday afternoon.
Jones said Glenn's knee injury is similar to that of former Cowboys center Al Johnson, who missed his entire rookie season in 2003 following microfracture surgery.
"You hate to see this with one of your top players and we need all of those we can beyond the field," Jones said. ""It's a real blow for Terry and for us."
So right now, he's out for two weeks or more. Man they scared the crap out of me with that original story. Sorry to freak you out.
In any case, it's a bummer. TNT is on hold. Hello Patrick Crayton and Sam Hurd. I'll have more later on this.
Hat tip to Burt-D and Deke for posting these stories.
