Capers to interview

Dom Capers set to interview for linebacker coach

According to a source, Dom Capers is headed to Dallas to interview for a spot on Phillips' staff, possibly as early as today.

Capers, who was a head coach in Houston and Carolina, was the defensive coordinator in Miami the past two seasons.

His possible position in Dallas has not been determined. He could round out the Cowboys' staff as the linebackers coach or be hired as a defensive overseer.

The bottom line is the Cowboys are looking to add another veteran coach to the staff. Most importantly, Capers, who was also the defensive coordinator in Pittsburgh, is as much a guru of the 3-4 defense as Phillips. And while he has no connection to Phillips, Todd Grantham, who the Cowboys hired as defensive line coach last week, coached under Capers in Houston.
