The Cowboys are on the verge of returning to Oxnard for training camp.

A deal to hold the 2008 Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, Calif., is close to being finalized, a source said.

Along with the trip west, the Cowboys also plan to travel to Denver for a couple of days of training-camp practices with the Broncos.

ESPN Insider has a look at the Cowboys offseason needs. For those who don’t have Insider, I’ll break it down in brief terms.

  1. We need to re-sign Ken Hamlin, badly.
  1. Jacques Reeves gets picked on so we need another corner and we should use one of our 1st-round picks on a corner.
  1. Julius Jones is gone so we need to add a fast, elusive back to complement Marion Barber’s new featured role.
  1. We need to get younger at wide receiver.
  1. The Flozell Adams is a tricky situation (I think they read my post) and that Doug Free has potential but no experience if it comes to that.

Anthony Fasano, Keith Davis, Isaiah Stanback and Evan Oglesby are all recovering from offseason surgery.
